Lesson 21What year is it?
一、教学内容
1. 重点词汇：rat, ox, dragon, rooster, year, also .
2. 重点句型：1:What year is it? It’s the year of the____.
2:What is your year? My year is the year of the ____.
3. 拓展句型：What is his /her year? What is your mother’s year?......
二、教学目标：
1. 知识目标：学习怎样用英语表达十二生肖，掌握相关的单词和句型。
2. 能力目标：培养学生的认真观察习惯，逐渐形成独立思考的能力，拓展多方面的兴趣和爱好，发展学生综合运用语言的能力。
3. 情感目标：激发学生学习英语的兴趣，感受中西方文化的深远和不同。
三、教学重点：创设语言情景，开展生动活泼的教学活动，使学生准确理解和运用所学知识用英语表达十二生肖。
四、教学难点：
创设各种真实或接近真实的语言环境，激发学生的求知欲，在操练中熟练掌握重点句型和拓展句型。
五、教具准备：1.PPT课件 2. 录音机、磁带
六、教学过程：
Step Ⅰ Class Opening and Review
1. Greeting:Good morning, boys and girls. How are you?
2. show a song: 十二生肖歌
3. Review:
从歌曲自然进入导入本课环节。
Step Ⅱ New Concepts:
1. Introduce:
T: In China, years have names. Each year has an animal name.
Can you say these animals? Have a try.
a. 学生自读已学过的十二生肖动物词汇。
e.g. dog, pig, tiger, cow, sheep, monkey, snake, rabbit, horse, ect.
b. 教师重点讲解新授的十二生肖动物词汇。e.g. rat, ox, dragon, rooster.
重点指导单词拼写和读音。例如，rat—cat, 字母组合“dr”，“oo”的发音规律。
注意联系学生生活和东西方文化差异拓展学生的英语知识视野。
例如，鼠的另一表达方式mouse，。引导学生简单了解龙在东西方文化中的差异，(西方的龙是毁灭的龙, 东方的龙是详和的表象！中国的神话里龙是神圣的生物！)并提示学生用Chinese dragon来进行区别。
2. Make sentences.
联系旧知（序数词）帮助学生建立准确的十二生肖的顺序概念。
模仿例句Which is the twelfth animal? The twelfth animal is a pig.
Which animal is the first? The first animal is the rat.进行造句操练。个别学生展示——小组内交流——多数学生的展示
3. 生肖年的表达
由今年是什么年（答马年）承转到这个环节
学习生肖年的表达之前，马用英语大家都会说，但是怎么用英语表达“年”呢？引出year 这个单词年，然后总结以前学过它的另一个意思“岁”并举例。
…年=the year of the+生肖动物
老师举例后，让学生同桌之间实际操练，熟悉其表达法

重点指导学生注意时态表达的变化。

Practice in pairs. 利用以上的句型进行小组实际操练并课堂展示

承转：同学们说的很棒，那我就来考考你们听的怎么样?
PPT展示听力问题：1、How old is Li Ming? Jenny?Danny?
2、What is Li Ming’s year? Jenny’s? Danny’s?
第一遍听，第二遍逐句复述，然后处理问题。
结束后老师指出听力中的新单词：also,并讲解意思及用法。
