When I was thirteen years old, an eight-grader hit me in the stomach. And this made me 41 .

Mo Yan, 57, became the first Chinese citizen (公民) to win a Nobel Prize in literature (文学) on October 11,2012.
The award des cribed Mo’s work as a mixture of fantasy (幻想) and reality, combining historical and social perspectives (看法).
Mo Yan was born in 1955 and grew up in Gaomi in Shandong. His parents were farmers. At the age of 12, he had to leave school and start work, first in the field and then in a factory. In 1976, Mo joined the army and began to study literature and write.

Ma Wendi, a 25-year-old veterinary graduate(兽医学毕业生), is a full-time dog walker. The owners drop their pets off in the morning and pick them up in the evening.
Ma has more than 50 customers(顾客), and most customers leave their dogs at her house for a week. For one dog, its owner pays Ma 500 yuan a month.

Did you show your thanks to your family and friends on this year’s Thanksgiving Day? For me, maybe the first person I should thank is my American friend. She kindly invited me to her home to celebrate the festival. I experienced (体验) my first ever Thanksgiving.
On that day, we watched the Thanksgiving parade (游行) in New York City on T V. My friend’s family sat in front of the television. They came from all over the States and enjoyed being together. It’s hard when a best friend isn’t around – maybe because he or she moved to a different school or a different class. You may feel left out at break or lunchtime.
