In Chinese“tu”means earth and“hao”means rich．To say someone is“tuhao”is
to say they used to be very poor and have made it rich quick，but they don’t quite have good manners．It’s just like the term “nouveau fiche” in English．That’s also why many Chinese people are not happy to be called“tuhao”．“tuhao”is actually an old word．It first came to use in the Southern Dynasty l,500 years ago．At that time，it meant something rather different—it only meant rich people or families．During the communist revolution，from the l920s to early l 950s，it was widely used to refer to landholders and gentry who would bully those beneath them．

Assertiveness is to express (表达) your opinions and feelings with confidence，in a way that doesn’t make others unhappy．
