Star Student of the Week

Li Yue has been awarded the title of "Star Student of the Week" for what she did for our class. On the hot afternoon of last Saturday, Li Yue went downtown and walked from one store to another, looking for the costumes we would wear in the singing contest. While the rest of us were enjoying our leisure time in cool and comfortable rooms, she spent the whole afternoon searching and selecting. Finally, she found the right clothes. Deeply moved by her efforts, we tried our best and won the first prize in the contest.

Li Yue is always warm-hearted and cares a lot about the class. Besides, she often devotes her spare time to helping others. She has set a good example for us. Therefore, she deserves the honor and we

should learn from her.

Nowadays a lot of schools keep their students in school all day long. Students have different opinions about it. Some of the students think they enjoy less freedom and have little chance to get in touch with society. They are not able to fully develop their interests and hobbies. Therefore, they have lost interest in their studies.

Some others think school is the best place to get knowledge so they should put their heart into their lessons. Some students lack the ability to control themselves. Once out of school, they may lose control of themselves and do something that will influence/affect their studies.

As far as I am concerned, it is necessary to keep students at school. But at the same time schools should organize various activities so that students can enjoy their school life. (I don’t agree to keep students at school all day. Schools should offer students more free time to develop their personal interests.)

On Saturday, March 9th, I had an interview with Professor Li, a psychologist, about how Senior 3 students can release overwhelming stress. According to Professor Li, the main reason why Senior 3 students are suffering overwhelming stress is that most of them attach so much importance to the College Entrance Examination that they even look on it as their final goal. He suggests that Senior 3 students should take a positive attitude towards the exam. They had better do some exercise, which can be a helpful way to release their stress. What’s more, they’re supposed to keep a balanced diet and make sure that they have enough sleep.
