1. Do you think consumers should avoid over-packaged products or is it the responsibility of producers?

Nowadays, the over-packaging of products, especially possible solutions to this growing issue has become a topic of much debate. Both consumers and manufacturers have been suggested as the principal party responsible for possible change. In my opinion, a solution involves not just consumers avoiding products that are over-packaged but also manufacturers to change their ways.

Voting with one’s wallet by boycotting certain products may have profound influence over how goods are made. Manufacturers would begin to notice reduced sales of over-packaged goods and make changes to how future products are packaged in order to improve the bottom line.

On the other hand, it would take more than consumers being socially conscious of their purchasing habits to change how products of today and tomorrow are packaged. Manufacturers need to take the initiative to look into more effective ways of packaging goods so that less packaging is needed. Assembly lines needs to be examined in close detail so that these changes may be implemented effectively.

In summary, while the over-packaging of products can be lessened through the efforts of either consumer purchasing habits or manufacturer’s production methods, it takes the effort of both in my opinion to affect the most change.

2. Many people think that regions may affect the success of a person. What is your opinion about native region and accomplished person’s influence on the region he belongs to?

Some may feel that a person’s success is not only attributed to where he comes from but may have an effect on that place as well. In my opinion, there is a certain amount of truth in this statement.

A person’s success in whatever field he achieved it in has to do with the resources available to him and this is largely dependent on where he is from. In a city well known for having a rich artistic background for example, there is a higher possibility of producing artists because of the increased exposure and resources available in that particular field.

However, when a person achieves considerable success, the influence he exerts on the place where he is from can also be just as significant. For instance, a singer from a small town who managed to become a famous star may inspire many from his hometown to pursue the same career. This is one reason why Finland for example, has produced more racing champions than any other country despite its relatively small population.

In conclusion, the influence that a place holds over a person’s success is a one that can go both ways as their success can inspire many more from that very same region.

3. Roles of governments, companies and individuals to combat climate change.

Climate change is fast becoming an issue that can no longer be ignored by governments, corporations and the general public. As a result, the roles that each play in combating this issue is one of heated debate. A brief outline of each will be elucidated in this essay.

Governments in my opinion play the chief role in fighting climate change as they have the authority to enforce laws and regulations that deter activities which are detrimental to the

environment. If no deterrents are provided for behaviors that have a negative impact on climate change, people would not feel the need to avoid them.

Companies, especially multi-national corporations play the second biggest role in combating climate change. Environmental sustainability is one aspect of business that needs to be better prioritized in companies and when they do, will make a huge difference on slowing climate change.

Individuals play their part by educating themselves on the causes and implications of climate change. By doing so, they will be able to ascertain which behaviors may negatively or positively affect the climate and change their living habits accordingly. For example, if more people drove cars that have lower carbon emissions, the ozone layer would suffer less damage and global warming may slow as a result.

In summary, while the government and companies play big roles in fighting climate change, the individual have important contributions as well.
