Topic 1 How to make a successful marriage

A: In today's world, there are more and more people getting divorced.

B: That's so terrible. As far as I'm concerned making a successful marriage is really difficult.

A: yeah. I agree with you. And what do you think are the factors that contribute to a successful marriage.

B: In my opinion the romantic love is a basic element of marriage . A marriage without love, the couple will not have a happy life.

A: But I think the marriage based only on romance will not last long. A sense of responsibility is most essential to a successful marriage. If one side of the couple without responsibility ,the marriage can not keep up .

B: That's right. And I think loyalty is also important . It is a common scene that many couples divorce because of the third people , it isn't strange to us now . That is because one of them or both of them are not so loyal to each other , finally , divorce is a must .

A: In addition , trust is an important factor. The couple must be faithful to each other .If the couple don't trust each other ,they maybe quarrel with each other frequently just for a very small thing .

B: What's more, the couple should be tolerant about their mistakes, instead of punishing the person. The mistakes are unavoidable.

A: Last but not least, the couples should communicate with each other, which can make them more understand each other.

B: Oh, it's so difficult to make a successful marriage. Responsibility, royalty , trust, tolerance, communication. They are all necessary.

Topic 2 Quiting smoking

A: Hello, it has been a long time since we seen each other. I'm glad to see you here. B: Me too. How are you?

A: I'm fine. Thank you. And you?

B: Everything is fine.

B: Are you OK ? have you caught a cold ?

A : No , my Graduate tutor smoke a lot , and we all suffer from that.

B : Smoking is harmful to people's health. You should talk with your teacher about this.

A : almost everyone knows that smoking does no good. But it is easier said than done .

B : I think I can’t agree with you. my father has quit smoking nearly 10 years ,after his smoking for more than 20 years.

A : really ? that’s owesome . How did he manage to do it?

B : nothing but a little will .you know that where there is a will there’s a way .

A : I still think it is a little hard .what can we do to help them ?

B: well , we should encourage them and help them .

A : can you say it in details ?

B : we can buy them some give-up smoking candies.

A : what’s that for ?

B: For example, if I want to smoke, I will eat give-up smoking candies. Then I will not be eager for cigarette .

A : Oh. I see. Anything else?

B: Do some physical exercise is a helpful thing, which can build you up and help you resist the temptation of smoking.

A :Do you have any suggestion for heavy smokers? Can they stop at once ?

B: No. they should gradually reduce the cigarettes that they have a day. It's impossible to make a heavy smoker entirely give up smoking at once.

A: Haste brings no success.

B: Yeah. I think the effective ways to quit smoking is what I said.

A: I agree with you. I will talk with my tutor tomorrow .

Topic 3 The Spring Festival

A: Hey ,what's your favorite festival?

B: The Spring Festival.

A: Really? So do I. Can you tell me how do your family celebrate this festival?

B: Of course. On the new year's eve ,our family will get together to have a big dinner. After meal, our parents and grandparents usually give us red envelop.

A: And then?

B: At 8o'clock, we begin to watch the CCTV spring festival evening show and eat candies, melon seeds and so on. What's more, on the first day of the new year, we get up early and wear our new clothes to pay a new year call to our friends and relatives. How about you?

A: We have much in common. But there are something different. We make a lot preparations for the festival. For example, we clean and decorate the house. And

we set off fireworks and stay up until the midnight to welcome the arrival of the new year.

B: Some people also set off fireworks in our hometown, but our community forbid us to do it, which is too dangerous.

A: It's a pity that you can't have a jolly time. I heard that you people in the north always eat jiaozi on the eve of spring festival . is that true ?

B : in fact , in my hometown we eat jiaozi in the first day morning of the new year .

A : oh really ? that’s different from the text book .

B : our country is a big country with different culture , so there’s difference from town to town .

A : yet we share much in common . we celebrate spring festival in different ways ,but we all bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new year .

B: Yeah. That’s why I like the spring festival best.

A: The same to me.

A : My goodness, It's difficult for me to fall asleep recently. I really don't know why.
