Step 1 .Warm up

Let’s do. Play the music for the Ss doing the actions with the T.

Step

1.The T asks the Ss: Can you sing /dance/ fly kites/ read

books/play ping-pong? Help the Ss answer : Yes ,I can. / No,

I can’t.

2.The T asks the Ss :What can you do ? Help the Ss answer :

I can sing / dance ……

Step 3 .Presentation

1.Let one or two students ask the teacher: What can you do ?

Show the picture of water the flowers .The T answers : I can water the flowers. Teach the phrase : water the flowers. The Ss read the phrase follow the T. And then the Ss spell the word: c-o-o-k ---cook follow the T.

2.Teach the other new phrases :sweep the floor ,cook the meals,

clean the bedroom, empty the trash in the same way.

3.The Ss read the phrases in Let’s learn follow the tape. And

then the Ss read the phrases in the small group . And then ask some Ss to read the new phrases.

4.Show some pictures for the Ss looking and answering: What

can you do ?/What can she/ he do?( show nine pictures) I can …… She /He can……

Step 4 Let’s chant

Show the sentences of the chant on the scream. The Ss read follow the T.

Mike, Mike, what can you do ?

I can sweep the floor .

Amy, Amy, what can you do ?

I can cook the meals.

Tom, Tom, what can you do ?

I can water the flowers.

Mary, Mary, what can you do ?

I can clean the bedroom.

Sarah, Sarah, what can you do ?

I can empty the trash.

Then the Ss read and do.

Step 5 Play a game

One student asks one of his/her classmate : xxx, xxx, what can you do? The student who was asked first answers the question, and then asks other student the same question. And so on. If the student can use the other phrases to answer the question, his/her group can get one furniture to desecrate the house. Step 6 Let’s talk

1.The T asks: What can you do at home? The Ss answer :I can

cook the meals/water the flowers / sweep the floor .T says;

Great ! You are helpful. Teach the word: helpful

2.Show the dialogue on the scream. The Ss read the dialogue

follow the tape. And then the Ss practice the dialogue in pairs. Get some pairs act out the dialogue.

Step 7 Consolidation and extension
