My View on Opportunity

Different people have different views on opportunity. Some people think that there are few opportunities in the world, while others argue that everybody will have some kind of opportunity along his life route.

As far as I am concerned, I agree with th e latter opinion. For one thing, I firmly believe opportunities are everywhere around us. No person will be unlucky enough to have no opportunities all the time, because “every dog has his day”. For another, since opportunities are transient, we have to make good preparations and improve ourselves. Environmental betterment has always been important to government officials, scientific researchers and common citizens alike. Although this issue has long been discussed and examined, it would not be true to say that unanimous agreement has been reached.

In my belief, the more beneficial steps in improving the overall environment of our city are as follows. First and foremost, the overall planners have to come up with a comprehensive development scheme so that all the later projects can be fitted into it under coherent consideration. In the second place, the ratio of green lands has to be largely increased to raise the quality of air and water. My Favourite Programme

When asked about my favorite TV program, I will not hesitate a moment to say it is news program. Whenever I have spare time to watch TV, I will watch national and local news program, which acquaints me with daily happenings at home and abroad. Ever since I was a high school student, I began to enjoy news program, which makes me feel I am in touch with the world.

Although some friends do not like news program, I have watched it for several years. The reasons why I enjoy it so much are three-fold. Firstly, it is always quick, accurate and wide in coverage. Changes in the Ownership of Houses

From the chart, we can see clearly that in a bit city in China, state-owned houses declined from 75%in 1990 to 60% in 1995 and then to 20% in 2000, while private houses rose from 25% to 40% and then to 80% during the same period.

Two reasons, in my mind, can account for the fundamental changes in the ownership of houses. Seen from the chart, it can be concluded that American students prefer to read popular novel rather than other kinds of books. Among all the books the students read now, popular novels account for 68% while unpopular novels make up 17%, technical books 8% and poem collection only 5%.
