The first one includes 5 short dialogues. We can hear each for once and then choose one out ofth e three answers to a question about the dialogue. The question and possible answers are on thep aper.

In Section 2 there are 5 long conversations or monologues, each of which may be heard twicewit h 2 to 4 questions raised about it.

The whole part, which mainly tests our understanding of spoken English, lasts about 20 minutes. We tick the answers on the paper first and then copy them on the answer sheet by blackening th esmall brackets with A, B, or C with a 2B pencil.

Last week, we did research into how laid-off workers get theirnew jobs. We had a discussion in th ree groups and then beganour research separately.

Group One surfed on the Internet and learned that most of thelaid-off workers had already got th eir new jobs. In the vocationaltraining center, the students in Group Two were told that therewer e five training courses for laid-off workers. Students Like Optional Courses

This term our school had offered more than 10 optionalcourses, from which students can choose. The courses aregiven from 3:30 to 5:00 every Tuesday afternoon.

Students take great interest in the optional courses. Their favourites are computer, spoke n English,arts and so on. They say they have got a great deal of practice and they have l earned a lot that isnot taught in textbooks.

Fire causes

Spring has come. Early in the morning, I went to Xiangshan Parkfor sightseeing with my parent s. While walking around the park,we couldn’t help admiring the beauty of nature. Of course weto ok a lot of pictures.
