一、“观点”模块

特点：

1、就某个社会热点问题或某个事件，不同的人有不同的看法。

2、赞成观点。

a)讲理由（reasons）的,采用因果法。

b)列举事实（facts or factors）的，采用列举法。

c)偶尔可穿插一个例子（example）。

Is A Test of Spoken English Necessary?

People differ in their points of view as to whether a test of spoken English is necessary or not. Some people think that a test of spoken English is quite necessary. They hold this opinion because the purpose of learning a foreign language is to exchange ideas and spoken English plays a very important part. In addition, with the practice of open and reform policy, more and more foreign friends are coming to China to make a tour, to set up factories and companies, to do business or even to work. What’s more, English has already become a world language. Still,to the majority of us Chinese students, we are poor in spoken English. Thus, a test of spoken English is necessary to make us realize its importance.

However, others think that a test of spoken English is not all that necessary. For one thing, a great many people do not have the chance of meeting foreigners either in their life or in their work. For another,learning to speak English well is rather difficult and may even be considered a waste of time and energy.

As far as I am concerned, I am in favor of a test of spoken English. It is true that learning to speak English well is rather difficult, but it will help prompt us to learn spoken English well and make us well prepared for our life beyond the campus.

Most important of all,computers create wide communication around the world. People can communicate with each other by joining Internet. They can make friends all over the world.

But every coin has two sides. The negative aspects are also apparent. To begin with, since computers can do a lot of work for us, we may rely too much on them and become lazy. To make matters worse,although it is convenient to communicate by E-mail, people will have fewer opportunities to talk to each other face to face and their relationship may fade away. Worst of all, computers will have virus that may cause a lot of important information to be lost.

Through the above analysis, we can see that the positive aspects out-weigh the negative aspects.Therefore, I believe, computers will have a bright future.

How to Solve the Problem of Heavy Traffic

Nowadays, heavy traffic is becoming a more and more serious problem in our society. Generally, there are many ways for us to deal with the situation.

First, more high-quality highways should be built and existing roads should be broadened to speed up the flow of heavy traffic. Also, more bus routes should be opened up to reduce the use of private cars. In addition, more underground passages should be developed so that people don’t have to crowd onto the stree ts.

As far as I am concerned, there is not much room for us to choose from. Perhaps the only thing we can do is to ride bicycles for a short distance and take planes if we are to travel for a long distance. Of course, we need also to plan our traffic well so that we may have a smoother flow of traffic under existing conditions.

These may not be the best and only solutions. But before we have found a better one, the above mentioned may be helpful for solving the problem of heavy traffic.

Life is a process of choices. We are often caught in a dilemma between what is a right choice and what is a wrong choice. The problem of whether to read selectively or extensively is one of them.

It goes without saying that reading extensively has its advantages. First of all, we should read extensively in order to know thoroughly the field in which we learn.Second, we need to know something about everything to broaden our horizon and enrich our experience. On the other hand, reading selectively also has its reasons. For one thing, knowledge is exploding. It is no longer possible for us to read all of the books.

Why I take College English Test Band 6?

Nowadays, taking college English test band 6 is becoming more and more a concern for the majority of students throughout China. The necessity of college English test band 6 goes without saying. There are many reasons for the test, but they may come down to three ones.

First, like it or not, English has become a world language. As a university student in this modern society, you need to learn it and learn it well. Second, some students want to go abroad for further education after graduation, so they are eager to learn more of the language. But perhaps the primary reason is that more and more college students want to be more competitive in this tight job market beyond the campus.

As for me, I think I should get myself a CET-6 certificate. For one thing, English is truly getting more and more important. Most well-paid jobs require applicants with a good command of English, often with a CET-6 certificate. For another, I need to prove the real value of college life and develop a good attitude towards CET-6. It will tell me what we need to spend more time studying and help make my knowledge permanent.

According to the chart given above, it is quite clear that the average number of hours a student in a certain university spends on the computer per week rose from less than 2 hours per week in the year 1990 to around 4 hours in the year 1995.It can also

be seen that there was a sudden sharp rise from about 4 hours in 1995 to a surprising number of 20 hours per week in 2000.

There might be various reasons to explain such a trend. The first reason might be that the computer is a useful machine. It can help us do lots of difficult jobs such as calculations, making designs, doing scientific experiments. Also, it can offer us almost whatever information we need. In addition, if it is web-netted, people can watch films, play games or even talk with each other on the net.What’s more,the price of the computer has been coming down all the way and has now become cheap enough for almost anyone to buy it. The current problem with university students in China is, I'm afraid, that there still isn't enough number of computers for use in the classroom. They have to wait and pay in order to get the privilege of using it. Another problem is that not all university students use the computer for useful information or for their study. They sometimes would stay in a computer bar playing computer games all night long.
