Even if you are not directly involved in research, it is likely that in your work you will encounter books written in English. If you are a graduate student ,you would be required to summarize your thesis or dissertations in English .

Competition for academic positions is high , with increasing number of local students graduating and foreign-trained students returning. it is not surprising that many Local students and young scientists in china finish up working in a different profession from the one they preferred or had trained for.
