My opinion on innovation and entrepreneurship

Do you know this application? It’s called Mianliao which is invented by the students in UESTC and it won the first prize in the Internet plus competition in XX. This app establishes a great platform to shorten the distance between students. Obvouisly, every day, we are surrounded with a large number of new ideas and inventions. There is no doubt that all of us are able to become inventors since we all possess the spirit of innovation.

As the saying goes,you can do everything that you imagine. So what is innovation？As far as I’m concerned, innovation means change. There is a famous saying said by Charles Darwin: It is not the strongest of the species that survive, but the one most responsive to change. That is to say:Only when we are able to have an entirely brand-new look can the whole society develop. But how to change？The key to changing is to cultivate our innovative thinking which must be the soul of leadership. breaking out the stereotype which

is deeply rooted in our mind is of great importance.

Besides，we need take a skeptical attitude and have the courage to criticize everything. It goes without saying that, we are faced with a lot of the so-called authorities and customs which makes it hard to discover the blank to make up in our life. Therefore, we are required to have the skeptical attitude towards the objects around us and scan our current situation.

Of course, creating something new brings the risk and we need to persist our dreams and never forget our initial determination.

With the rapid development of the economy, the government provides the undergraduates with a great platform and beneficial policies for innovation and entrepreneurship and there are many opportunities for us. I suppose that entrepreneurship is based on innovation and there are a wide variety forms of entrepreneurship.

Innovation and entrepreneurship play an essential role not only in the undergraduates

themselves but also in the development of our society. Firstly, entrepreneurship transforms

scientific and technological achievements and boost the economic development. Entrepreneurs can make profits by making full use of the achievements and the GDP will increase with the efficiency increasing. Secondly, it creates much more job opportunities, which release the employment pressure. Thirdly, entrepreneurship offers the undergraduate another option of earning money.

Now I’d like to show you my design of an innovation project. Frankly speaking, it’s just a kind of new idea.

This year I volunteered to take care of some disabled children in the health recovery center. All the children there are unable to speak and communicate with people freely as normal men. Therefore, I want to design a unique application only used for disabled and help them learn to speak out some simple words. If they get lost or something terrible occurs, their parents will be annouced as soon as posible. Unfortunately, I’m an art literal student and I’m not major in software and technology. So I’m lack of vocational skills to invent this kind of application.

However, I believe that I will make it some day and

it will surely give a hand to disabled children.

Dear teachers and students：

Good morning / afternoon / evening! My name is Liu zi yuan. The title of my speech is the relationship between creativity and imagination.

尊敬的老师、同学们大家早上/下午/晚上好!我叫刘子源。我演讲的题目是创造力和想象力之间的关系。

There is no creativity without imagination. With the development of the society, creativity becomes more and more important. People could not satisfy with ordinary life. So we need creativity to meet their requirements. We can see significance of the creativity from an example. The smart phone—iphone spread all over the world. That was the creativity of The Apple Inc. It is obvious that it will produce a bigger profit than common manufacturing. But, hao can we acquire creativity?

没有想象力就没有创造力。随着社会的发展，创造力变得越来越重要。人们已经不能满足于日常生活。所以我们需要不断的创新来满足他们的需求。通过一个例子我们可以知

道创造力的意义。苹果智能手机的使用遍及全世界。这就是苹果公司的创新。很显然，这项创新产生了巨大的利润比起普通的制造业。但是我们怎样才能获得创造力？

I think the creativity roots in imagination. Albert Einstein said that imagination is important than knowledge. Because we should creative a thing that is never appeared, we need to image. Use all the things and information around us to think and then go to achieve it. Without the imagination of the Wright brothers , human could not complete the flying dreams. Without the imagination of the Alexander Graham Bell, we could not hear the voice from a distance. If the creativity can make the human progress, imagination will be the road to success. Where the imagination come from? Knowledge ? Experience ? practice? I consider that all of them are indispensable. It is often said that knowledge is power. So we should empower ourselves with knowledge. After that we need to obtain experience form practice. These are the basis, and we must strengthen them to extend our imagination.

我认为创造力扎根于想象力。爱因斯坦曾经说过，想象力远远比知识更重要。因为我们要创造一个事物，以前从没

有出现过的，因此我们需要想象。利用我们周围所有的事物以及信息去想象，然后去完成它。没有莱特兄弟的想象力，人类就不能实现飞天的梦想；没有贝尔的想象力，我们就不能听到来自远方的声音。如果说创造力可以使人进步，那么想象力就是通向成功的道路。想象力来自哪里？知识？经验？还是实践？我觉得所有这些都是必不可少的。俗语有云：知识就是力量。所以我们首先应该用知识武装自己，然后我们需要从实践中获得经验。这些都是基础，我们必须用它们来扩展我们的思维。

As contemporary college students, we must shoulder the responsibility of the future of our motherland. What we need is not only the knowledge of the past, but also is the innovation of a new field. Our thought can not be bound by the old things. We should understand that an excellent nation is always full of creativity. So we must promote our imagination. There is no creativity without imagination.

When Tradition Meets Innovation

This is a changing world. We have so many products that are updating every day, which totally change the way we live. At first we only had telephones that could speak to each other, and then we got SMS to send text. We tried to made phones smaller to be portable. After that, we added camera function into phones and successfully linked it with internet. This is how we got our smart phones.

From the development of mobile phones, it is easy to tell that, all kind of innovation is based on what it had originally. Innovation is adding something new to or changing something that has been established. Tradition is a ritual, belief, or object passed down within a society, still maintained in the present, with origins in the past. Most, if not all things, incorporate lessons learned from both. 'Innovation and Tradition' represents opposite ends on the spectrum of change. When tradition meets innovation, all you need

is to change another mind. You can combine totally different things together, or figure out different usages, in order to get new things.

A company needs to be creative while has a sense to satisfy consumers requirement in this dog-eats-dog environment. Therefore, innovative ability has become a vitally important key to success. Let?s take Wechat as a sample. It took the place of original way to communicate and even added voice message, allow us to hear peoples voice freely. It really makes the connection between the worlds differently. Every a little change counts.

When you get an extra cup, makes it a pot to grow flowers; when you get some tea and milk, makes it a cup of milk tea; when you get a huge calabash, makes it a float.

In order to be irreplaceable, one must be always different. This is the belief that helps Coco Chanel to develop her brand into a world-famous luxury. To be different is just another saying of innovation. Nowadays, innovative ability has become a standard of job interviews. The more creative you are, the more

opportunities could you get. As I have said above, if one person wants to be creative, try to combine things together or think about

new ways and turns to do things. Always ask yourself, ?Is there any way to make a change??

All the promotions we make today comes from the inspiration due to innovation. We make our life become safe and convenient.

So always change a kind of way to think. When people say the old saying, “When life gives a lemon to you, turn it into lemonade”, you should change a way. You can say, “when life gives you lemonade, turn it into lemon, and the life will say ?what?! ?
