West Street

Guilin is a wonderful destination for landscape tourism and the glorious symbol of Guangxi. I want to introduce the famous pedestrian street of Guilin, Yangshuo county: West Street.

West Street is located in the center of Yangshuo County. It is a total length of 517 meters, 8 meters wide and have marble pavement and in the shape of S curve. West Street is a street with the longest history in Yangshuo. 桂林,是中国山水旅游中的王牌,是一张响亮的名片。我今天要介绍的是桂林阳朔县有名的步行街——西街。

西街位于阳朔县城中心，全长517米，宽8米，大理石路面，呈弯曲的S形，房屋建筑古色古香，地方特色浓厚。荟萃各种旅游纪念品、小吃于街市。其充满了异国情调的夜景更是风情万种，风俗浓郁。

西街是阳朔最有历史的街道。西街始建于1674年，两旁是清代遗留的低矮砖瓦房，白粉墙红窗，透着岭南建筑的古朴典雅。

这里曾是孙中山先生演讲的地方，这里曾居住过艺术大师徐悲鸿先生，这里曾是一百五十多个国家，成百上千的总统、总理、首相、部长流连的地方，克林顿、尼克松、基辛格、撒切尔夫人、胡志明、西哈努克等等，不一而足。

新中国成立后，中苏关系处于良好阶段。50年代中期，一些援华的苏联及东欧国家的专家不时也到阳朔游览，这是解放后最早到阳朔的外国人。当时苏联的著名油画家马克西莫夫以及一些摄影家都到过阳朔。苏联的《鳄鱼》画报及《苏联画报》等刊物都发表有阳朔水东门码头及西街街景的美术作品和照片。

阳朔西街又被称为洋人街，已有1400多年的历史。西街至今仍是小家碧玉型的南方村镇建筑规模，但却显现着国际情调的人文景观。这里的酒吧、饭店、网吧、工艺品书画店等装修风格大多中西合璧，有外语招牌，工艺品书画店、饭店、酒吧的服务员、普通居民以至于街上卖水果的老太太，都能讲一口流利的英语。在西街的每一个角落，您会经常看到三五成群不同肤色的旅游者临街围坐在一起喝啤酒、品咖啡，吃点心。

其实，游览西街完全是一种体验——她浓浓的乡村氛围中流淌着纯正的小资情调，朴素的民风里包容着令人惊讶的国际元素,正宗的意大利咖啡与西餐、古老的中国画、最前卫的休闲风尚、国语、英文、法语、意大利语乃至西班牙语……

饮食：“啤酒鱼”，是阳朔有名的地方特色菜，用料非常讲究，鱼是从漓江捞上来的漓江清水鱼，鱼肉鲜美可口，啤酒和鱼肉的香味保证可以让你胃口大开正如所说“不吃不知道，一吃忘不掉”，啤酒鱼独到的口味吸引了大批慕名而来的游客，

吃了以后都赞不绝口，特推荐“彭大姐啤酒鱼”、“陶家正宗啤酒鱼”。

交通指南：从桂林到阳朔65公里，可以到桂林汽车站乘坐中巴车或豪华直达大巴，每15分钟就有一趟车发往阳朔。阳朔县城与各景点、乡镇之间有四通八达的水路、公路相连，除县外来往游船、客车、出租车外，本地的交通工具基本可以满足游客的需要。桂林到阳朔可以乘坐游船。在阳朔旅游，主要交通工具应该首推自行车。阳朔县的面积并不大，同时，许多相当不错的景致是在乡村，比如说遇龙河。其他景点也基本上在阳朔县城方圆10公里内，而且自行车的租金便宜、环保，可控性强，都让它成为了阳朔旅游的首选交通工具。

阳朔气候：平均气温25℃，最高温度32℃，全年都适合度假。4～7月为雨季。
