英语教学趣事 学生读书是为了用书，用书是读书的目的和归宿。用书是教学有效性的重要体现。在这方面，陶行知先生一贯强调学生既要读书，更要用书。学生读书是为了掌握一定的知识，获得一定的技能，以便更好的把知识与思想和行为结合起来，应用到生活中去，取得一定的经验。为此，在英语教学过程中，我注意让学生在掌握了书本内容之后，让学生联系实际，把所学的内容应用到生活中去，真正把英语学以致用。 陶行知先生在《活的教育》一文中指出：用活的人教活的人，拿活的东西去教活的学生，拿活的书籍去教小孩。陶行知先生说，这就是生活教育，为了生活而教育，在生活中教育，用生活来教育。在开学的第一天，我对班上学生提了一个建议，要求学生和老师尽量用英语交流。大家一致同意愿意试一试。 上课时，我也和学生用英语交流，如询问日期、星期几、天气、学生出勤情况等，并请在黑板的左下角标出当天的日期、星期几和天气的图标，让学生一目了然。每天都坚持相互问候，使学生会用英语相互交流。 课后，我主动用英语和学生交流，不管是我所教的班的学生还是其他班级的学生，一开始他们觉得有些不好意思，慢慢地，大家知道遇到屈老师的话，要用英语交流。一天，一个星期，一个月……慢慢地，几乎所有见到我的学生，甚至有些年轻的老师，都和我用英语讲话，例如：“hello/hi, Miss Xu.”、“Nic e to meet you. ”、“Good morning/afternoon.”、“Goodbye/ see you tomo rrow.”“Excuse me, may I come in ?”等。学生开始主动说英语了，哪怕是成绩不咋的学生都主动跑过来跟我主动用英语交流。我很开心能看到他们把说英语当成是一件新鲜的事情和快乐的事情。想到自己的尝试能让学生接受，我感到很欣慰，还有些沾沾自喜呢。 最让我得意的是，有一次，有学生给我打电话时竟然用一口流利的英语：“Is that Miss Xu? This is Han Xiao. My classmates and I want to come to your home, but we don’t know where is your house……”（是徐老师吗？我是HX，我和几个同学想来你家，但不知道你家在哪里……）我当时一愣，还以为是一个老外打错电话了，后来才反应过来。现在想想，觉得那位学生虽然表达得并不是完全标准，但是她真的把我对他们的要求付诸行动了。还有一次，教师节那天，有学生打电话来说：“Miss Xu, Happy Teachers’Day……” 慢慢地，学生养成了说英语的习惯，真正的用英语相互交流了
