死记硬背指的是不少考生花大量时间收集机经和背诵相关例文，或是力求每道考题都写一遍，这种做法是不对的。如果死记硬背，很有可能导致生搬硬套的现象，只要是类似题目就用上所背的论点或论据。
但是考生不清楚的是现在很多写作考题并非单纯是旧题，而是在原有题目上进行一定的改变，这就要求考生改变论证重点和角度了，否则很容易出现偏题现象。
投机取巧指的是很多考生抱有押题心理，并非切实备考。一旦没有押中，吃亏的永远是自己。所以考生要杜绝这种心理，脚踏实地的备考才能看到希望。
