Tom has always wanted a cool bike, because it looks as if everyone

else in school has one. He works hard to save money. At home, he

Do we judge people by their names?

Parents can spend months looking for the perfect baby name. Some ask their friends and family for advice. Others keep their choice a secret. They are afraid that it may become popular. Parents want to know what first impression (印象)they are creating for their child.They want to know what their teacher or boss might think but not say. Research shows that reading helps learn more words and broadens knowledge and

understanding of different topics. However, most middle and high school students do not have much time to enjoy reading for pleasure, although they will greatly benefit from reading more.

I warn to develop a love for reading in my students. 1 cultivate (培养)positive reading habits and suggest reading for enjoyment.

Read paper books. I spend a large amount of time reading a variety of material daily.However, this may not be clear to my students, because much of the reading I do is on e-books. For all they know, I might be spending time as they do: playing games, watching videos or using social media. Although reading e-books is convenient and easy, teenagers need to see the people they look up to clearly having positive reading habits. That makes it important for adults to read paper books.

Buy print newspaper and magazines. Although much news-related reading in my class is done online, a printed version of the newspaper is sent to us every Monday. The newspaper provides access (途径)to latest events, news and something my teenagers may nor learn about in other ways. I leave newspapers and magazines on the bookshelf throughout the week. I sometimes catch my students leafing through them, reading bits and pieces as they wait for their next activity.

Give books as gifts. Teenagers learn to value the things adults value when they are presented as special treats. Book can be given as gifts for birthdays. A boxed set of books or a book by a beloved author could encourage students to read for enjoyment.

初一英语期中考试质量分析 期中考试已经结束了,这次考试是对于不少刚刚接触英语的初一新生而言是一次重要的考试,是全面衡量学生这段时间学习情况的一次考试。下面我主要从以下几个方面来分析: 一、考试质量分析 1.试题方面 就整个试题而言,考题难度适中,大部分试题能够体现目前注重基础、体现能力的考试命题要求。 2.试卷方面 本次考试题型,分为听力部分、辨音、单项选择、阅读理解、完形填空,连词成句、句型转换和写作几个大部分,各部分难易程度不同。大部分题都比较基础,和平时的练习比较起来相对集中一些,更能反映出学生在这一阶段学习中的问题。 此次英语考试的听力部分,内容为与日常教学相关的材料,与所学教材难度相当,较为简单。朗读速度适中,对平日教学的听力训练有着良好的导向作用。但在第一节中还是有部分学生容易犯书写不规范的错误,也有些学生“g”、“j”不分,“r”、“l”混淆,因而造成较多失分。这学期对学生在听力方面的练习不是很多,除了在课堂上少量练习外,平时课下学生几乎得不到练习。 单项选择,突出了课本和平常练习中较基础的知识,学生训练较多,此部分得分较好。 辨音题,失分集中在第五小题,对orange这个词的发音把握不准。学生在平时朗读记忆单词的准确性不够。 完形填空,对于我校大部分基础较薄弱学生而言觉得难度较大,因选项具有大的灵活性,而学生在平时对单词的记忆和对句子的积累还不够牢,而且也没有掌握好做题技巧,没有联系上下文推测出正确答案,以至于此部分得分较低。 连词成句,由于平时练习较多,且反复强调大小写及单词、字母的正确书写,因此这部分得分比预计要好。但在句型转换部分,平时训练得还是较多的,部分学生在此题得分较好,但大但部分同学由于底子薄,只能在掌握得较好的某一两种的句型转换上得分,也有学生顾此失彼不是多了这个就是漏了那个,答的不好,得分非常低。 写作部分在上课时有所涉及,得分较高。只有极少数学生在这部分未动笔。 二、分析原因 由于老师花了大量的时间和力气在纠正学生的不良学习习惯,落实字词的读写,所以有部分班级没有按照预期进度完成新课。以至于第五单元相关知识基本上拿不到分。学生单词存在遗忘快的问题,因此在完形填空、阅读理解这类理解题型上非常吃亏,在书面表达上由于单词的失误,缺少动词也不能拿到理想的分数。造成这种结果的原因是多方面的,但其中最重要的两方面是在于教师和学生本身。 教师方面的原因:

初一英语期中考试成绩分析 本次考试已经结束,全体教师对全体学生的英语成绩不太满意,虽不太满意,可是我们每一位老师都已经非常尽力。本次考试我们初一的英语成绩呈现这样几个趋势:1、英语成绩班级之间不均衡。2、班级之间,学生之间不均衡。3、学生没有良好的考试习惯,学习习惯很差。容易犯低级错误等等。针对成绩,我们初一英语组全体教师做了认真分析,分析原因如下,并提出了下一步的打算。 1、学生方面 (1)学生学习仍然很不扎实,浮漂。考试之后我曾将几个学生叫到办公室进行当面分析,结果第一卷失分很多,由于粗心的原因不该出现的错误也较多。(2)部分学生相对基础较差,没有养成良好的英语学习习惯,很难在短期内提高。学生懒于动手、动脑。由于传统的教学方式的影响,上课时相当一部分学生只是听老师讲,或者听讲也只是瞪着眼,而没有动脑,更不愿意动手,导致所学知识一看就懂、一学就会、一做就错。 (3)学生落实不到位 学生对老师课上、课下布置的作业,学生不能及时完成或根本不做。 (4)学生计划性和学习效率太低 由于小学和初中学习的方式的差异,许多学生的学习主动性较差,缺乏计划性,从而导致学习效率太低。在有限的时间内不能完成相应内容。从而造成学习拖欠现象。 (5)学生应试能力还不够,规范落实的不好。还没有形成科学的答题习惯;审题不仔细,答题不严谨,规范性不够。从书写,到答题的规范程度来看都无法达到要求。 (6)从小学就已经显示了两极分化现象。由于在小学,部分学生已经对英语产生了厌烦情绪,成绩就非常不好,书写不规范。所以进入初中以后,与基础好的学生相比更是渐行渐远。 2、成绩分析 (1.)平均分一项各班相差不大。优秀率一项班级之间差距稍大一些。最高3班优秀12人,2班优秀9人,1班和4班优秀6人。各班不及格人数都比以往学生多。 三,今后改进措施: 1、首先应该从心理上增强学生的自信心,多采用鼓励教育方式。这对初一的学生来说非常重要。抓好基础知识,打牢基本功,为以后的顺利教学做好铺路石。 2、其次,要多看到学生的闪光点,多给以学生微笑和鼓励,使其不要产生对英语学科的厌倦情绪。减少两极分化现象。老师要充分利用好每一个45分钟,认真备课设计教学过程,组织灵活多样的教学活动,提高学生的学习爱好。同时,我们老师不要放弃每一个差生,这样才能大面积提高教学质量。
