The essay questions for the Chinese test paper in different provinces and municipalities were unveiled after the first day of the National College Entrance Exam. 高考第一天结束后，各地考试的语文作文题目陆续揭晓。

The first set of the national edition is themed on a driving violation, in which a daughter called the police after her father ignored her pleas and kept on making a phone call while driving on the highway. It requires test-takers to write a letter to

the father, the daughter or the police.

The Beijing edition offers two topics for examinees to choose from. They can write about an imaginary day spent with a hero, or they can express their deepest feelings for something they are enthusiastic about.

北京卷为二选一，考生可以"假如我与心中的英雄生活一天"或者"深入灵魂的热爱"为题写作。

The Shanghai edition asks test-takers to explore how to balance yourself between "the soft and hard inner side."

上海卷要求考生谈谈如何对待心中坚硬和柔软的东西，才能造就和谐的自我。

The Guangdong edition asks test-takers to write a perception of nature through multiple ways, whether it's by yourself or through TV and the Internet.
