【摘要】Metaphor is not only regarded as a kind of rhetoric method but it is a way of thinking of human beings. Metaphor is a major human cognitive means of understanding the world. The research of translation strategies of metaphors is attaching more and more people’s attention. This paper tries to explore the translation strategies of metaphors in political speeches via the research of case of Obama’s inauguration speech in 2009 under the guidance of Nida’s Functional Equivalence Theory. This paper aims to provide a better understanding of metaphors and guidance for the translation of political metaphors.%隐喻不仅是一种修辞方式，而且是人类的一种思维方式、认识世界的重要手段，对隐喻的翻译不断引起人们的关注。本文从尤金奈达的功能对等理论入手，以奥巴马就职演讲为例，探讨一下政治隐喻的翻译方法，旨在更好地理解隐喻，对政治隐喻的翻译有一定的指导意义。
