One day,a littleis playing by the well.

一天，有只小猴子在井边玩儿。

He looks in the well and shouts :“Oh!My god!The moon has fallen into the well!”

它往井里一瞧，高喊道：“噢！我的天！月亮掉到井里头啦！”

An older monkeys runs over, takes a look,and says, “Goodness me!The moon is really in the water!”

一只大猴子跑来一看，说，“糟啦！月亮掉在井里头啦！”

And olderly monkey comes over.

老猴子也跑过来。

He is veryas well and cries out:“The moon is in the well.”

它也非常惊奇，喊道：“糟了，月亮掉在井里头了！”

A group of monkeys run over to the well.

一群猴子跑到井边来。

They look at the moon in the well and shout:“The moon did fall into the

well!Come on!Let’get it out!”

它们看到井里的月亮，喊道：“月亮掉在井里头啦！快来！让我们把它捞起来！”Then,the oldest monkey hangs on the tree up side down ,with his feet on the branch.

然后，老猴子倒挂在大树上。

And he pulls the next monkey’s feet with his hands.

它用手抓住下一只猴子的脚。

All the other monkeys follow his suit.

其他的猴子一个个跟着。

And they join each other one by one down to the moon in the well.

它们一只连着一只直到井里。

Just before they reach the moon,the oldest monkey raises his head and happens to see the moon in the sky.

正好他们摸到月亮的时候，老猴子抬头发现月亮挂在天上呢。

He yells“Don’t be so!The moon is still in the sky!”

它兴奋地大叫：“别蠢了！月亮还好好地挂在天上呢！”

My name is Jenny. I have nine little.

我的名字叫珍妮。我有九条小金鱼。

Eight goldfish are alland one is.

八条金鱼都是桔黄色的，只有一条是黑的。

I like the black one best. We call it Xiao Hei.

Itsis black.

The Two Bags

Every man carries Two Bags about with him, one in front and one behind, and both are packed full of faults. The Bag in front contains his neighbours’ faults, the one behind his own. Hence it is that men do not see their own faults, but never fail to see those of others.

Thirsty Crow

The crow and the pitcher A crow felt very thirsty. He looked for water everywhere. Finally, he found a pitcher. But there was not a lot of water in the pitcher. His beak could not reach it. He tried again and again, but still could not touch the water. When he was about to give up, an idea came to him. He took a pebble and dropped it into the pitcher. Then he took another and dropped it in. Gradually, the water rose, and the crow was able to drink the water.

Fox and the Grapes

One hot summer day a fox was walking through an orchard. He stopped before a bunch of grapes. They were ripe and juicy.

"I'm just feeling thirsty," he thought. So he backed up a few paces, got a running start, jumped up, but could not reach the grapes.

He walked back. One, two, three, he jumped up again, but still, he missed the grapes.

The fox tried again and again, but never succeeded. At last he decided to give it up.

He walked away with his nose in the air, and said“I am sure they are sour.”【参考译文】

狐狸和葡萄

一个炎热的夏日，狐狸走过一个果园，他停在一大串熟透而多汁的葡萄前。

狐狸想：“我正口渴呢。”于是他后退了几步，向前一冲，跳起来，却无法够到葡萄。狐狸后退又试。一次，两次，三次，但是都没有得到葡萄。

狐狸试了一次又一次，都没有成功。最后，他决定放弃，他昂起头,边走边说：“葡萄还没有成熟，我敢肯定它是酸的。”

The fox without a tail

A fox's tail was caught in a trap. When he was trying to release himself, he lost his whole tail except the stump.

At first he was ashamed to see the other foxes because he had no tail, but he was determined to face his misfortune. He called all the foxes to a meeting. When they had gotten together, the fox said that they should all do away with their tails.

He said that their tails were very inconvenient when they met with their enemies. He did not talk about any advantages of the tail. "You are right," said one of the older foxes, "but I don’t think you would advise us to do away with our tails if you hadn't lost it yourself first."

一只狐狸的尾巴被夹住了，当他试着脱身的时候，挣断了整条尾巴。

开始时，他看到其他狐狸的时候感到很羞愧。后来，他决定面对这种不幸，就召集了所有的狐狸开会。

The wolf and the sheep

A wolf had been badly wounded by dogs. He lay sick and maimed in his lair. He felt very hungry and thirsty. When a sheep passed by, he asked him to fetch some water from the stream.

"If you bring me the water," he said, "I will find means to get some food." "Yes," said the sheep, "if I bring you the water, you would undoubtedly make me your food."

Sam is a little fish. He lives in the sea. He is very lonely. He wants to have a friend. The friend looks like him. Sam sees an ink fish. The ink fish has eight legs. He doesn’t look like Sam. So Sam goes away. Sam meets a shark. He wants to say hello to the shark. The shark opens his big mouth. Sam runs away quickly.

Sam is tired and hungry. He wants to have a rest. Then he sees a round fish. She says to him. “Hello! Would you like to be my friend”

Sam answers: “Of course! But you are round. I am flat.” The round fish days: “But we are both fishes.”

Sam thinks and says, “You are right. Let’s be friends.” They become good friends.

塞姆是一条小鱼，他在海里。他生在海里。他很孤独，想要找一个朋友，那个朋友看起来要想他。塞姆看见一条墨鱼。墨鱼有8条腿，看上去不像塞姆。因此塞姆游走了。塞姆遇见一条鲨鱼。他想跟鲨鱼问好。鲨鱼张开大嘴，塞姆有迅速地逃走了。

Two birls

Teacher: Here are two birds, one is a swallow, the other is sparrow. Now who can tell us which is which

Student: The swallow is beside the sparrow and the sparrow is beside the swallow.

He jumps into the river. The rabbit swims to the monkey, but he can’t help him. Luckily, an elephant comes along. He is very strong. He helps the rabbit and monkey. Three friends are very happy. They go to the elephant’s home. Then, three of them become good friends.

一天，一只猴子在河边骑车。这时他看见树下有一只狮子，狮子向他跑来。他非常的害怕，掉进河里。他不会游泳，大叫起来。兔子听见了，跳进水里，但他却没有办法救猴子。幸运的是，一只大象过来了。大象非常强壮，救出了兔子和猴子。他们来到大象的家，在那里吃了一顿大餐。从此他们成了好朋友。
