Today just as technology changed the face ofindustry, farms have undergone an “agriculturalrevolution”. On the farm of today, machines providealmost all the power.

One of the most important benefits will be the farmcomputer. A few forward-looking farmers are alreadyusing computers to help them run their farms moreefficiently. The computers help them keep more accurate records so they can make betterdecisions on what crops to plant, how much livestock to buy, when to sell their products, andhow much profit they can expect. Many computer companies have been developing specialcomputer programs just for farmers. Programs are being written for hog producers, grainfarmers, potato farmers, and dairy farmers. In the future, farmers will be able to purchasecomputer programs made to their needs. Because of the growing importance of computers onthe farm, students at agricultural colleges are required to take computer classes in addition totheir normal agricultural courses. There can be no doubt that farmers will rely on computerseven more in the future. While the old-time farm depended on horse power, and modern farmsdepend on machine power, farms of the future will

depend on computer power.

Another technological advance which is still in the experimental stage is the robot, a real”mechanized hired hand” that will be able to move and, in some ways, think like a humanbeing. Agricultural engineers believe that computer-aided robots will make startling changes infarming before the end of the century. Unlike farmers of the present, farmers of the future willfind that many day-to-day tasks will be done for them. Scientists are now developing robotsthat will be able to shear sheep, drive tractors, and harvest fruit. Even complex jobs will bedone by robots. For example, in order to milk their cows, farmers must first drive them into thebarn, then connect them to the milking machines, watch the machines, and disconnect themwhen they are finished. In the future, this will all be done by robots. In addition, when themilking is completed, the robots will automatically check to make sure that the milk is complete mobilization of the farm is far in the future, but engineers expect that somerobots will be used before long.

16年高考英语听说考试真题A录音原文与参考答案

2016年广东省高考英语听说考试真题A Part A Reading Aloud The modern city is a new kind of nature, man-made nature. It reflects back an image of ourselves through the things we have designed. But for the designer, the world is not enough. Plans for a new, improved version are always on the drawing board. At the Home Exhibition in London, people come and go, dreaming about new labor-saving devices, new possibilities, new designs for living. Not everything here is a design classic, but everything here has been designed to meet a need, fulfill a desire, or simply to raise a cheer at the breakfast table. (61”) Question 1: 在大家庭中成长是怎样的? What was it like growing up in a big family?/ How did you like growing up in a big family?/ What was growing up in a big family like? Answer 1: I love having such a big family. There were many sweet memories about those years growing up with my brothers and sisters. We played games together and went to school together and it was our family tradition to give everybody a surprise on his or her birthday. But at times, it could be a little crowded as we all live together in a small house when we were young. Question 2:最艰难的部分是什么? What was the most difficult part?/ What was the hardest part?/ What was the toughest part?/ What was the most difficult thing?/ What was the hardest thing?/ What was the toughest thing? Answer 2: I think it was that we didn’t have enough money to make sure that everybody ate well and dressed well. My elder brothers and sisters had a little tougher life than we did, because they had to work a lot to help with the family income. Question 3: 年幼的孩子比年长的孩子更幸运吗? Are younger children luckier than the elder children?/ Are younger children more fortunate than the elder children? Answer 3: Yes. I think for the most part, the younger ones are luckier, because they have more people to look up to and tell them right from wrong, which is a great help. As for the elder children, they have to help support the family and look after the younger ones. So usually, they have more responsibilities.

In the 19th century, Charles Dickens compared the two great rival cities, London and Paris, in‖ A Tale of Two Cities.‖These days, it might be A Tale of One City. Parisians are these days likely to smile in sympathy at a visitor‘s broken French and respond in polite English. As jobs grew lack at home over recent years, perhaps 250000 Frenchmen moved across the Channel. With an undersea tunnel, they could travel between cities in three hours. 2016高考英语阅读理解练习及答案(13)

2016高考英语阅读理解练习及答案(13) Forces other than damaging winds are also atwork inside tornadoes。Sometimes, as thewind passes a house, the walls and ceiling burstapart as if a bomb had gone off inside. Thisexplosion is caused by the low air pressure at thecenter of a tornado. The pressure at the center of a tornado isusually 13 pounds per square inch. However, inside the house the air pressure is normal, about15 pounds per square inch. The difference of 2 pounds per square inch between the inside andoutside pressure may not seem like much. But suppose a tornado passes over a smallbuilding that measures 20 by 10 by 10 feet. On each square inch ofthe building, there is 2pounds of pressure from the inside that is not balanced by air pressure outside the the ceiling, that adds up to an unbalanced pressure of 57600 pounds. The pressure ofthe four walls adds up to 172800 pounds. If windows are open in the building, some of the inside air will rush out through them. Thiswill balance the pressure inside and outside the building. But if the windows are shut tightly, the huge inside pressure may cause the building to burst. Unfortunately, heavy rain often occurs in the storms that
