In this commonweal advertisement, a Chinese character “home” and a red Chinese character “water” syncretize with each other artfully with a white background. Its superficial meaning is: water is the blood of home, no home could without water. But it essentially appeals people to protect water resources, protect the environment.
I fond of this advertisement for three reasons:
First and foremost, this is an excellent ad with unique creativity. Vivid color contrast and two ordinary Chinese characters superposing delicately produce a strong visual impact. It communicates its idea accurately, and can successfully persuade people to have a consciousness on protect water resources.
Besides, the advertisement presents its profound meaning not just from one point but extends to many. Water protection is not an isolated project, it is necessary to preserve forest , control air pollution and develop the saving-water agriculture. The advertisement leads us from one problem of water protection to the entire environment protection.
Last but not least, the advertisement educates us concretely rather than abstractly with a strong practical significance. As we known, water plays an important role in our “home”. The word “Home” can be understand as the earth we live on, and as well as the real life home . Human beings would face a terrible crisis if the water was polluted. And so I would like to call on: protect environment starts from any trivial thing and starts from now.
