One day, a mouse saw the farmer put a mousetrap in the house. He hurried to warn the animals on the farm .
The animals said, “We are sorry to hear that, Mr. Mouse. But it’s none of our business.”
That night, the mousetrap caught something. The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a snake. The snake bit her. The farmer sent her to the hospital and she returned home with a fever.
The ne xt day, the farmer killed the chicken to make chicken soup for his wife. But she didn’t get better. So the farmer killed the pig, too. Still, she didn’t get well, and finally, she died. Many neighbors and friends came for her funeral. The farmer had to kill the cow to provide enough meat for all of them. The mouse saw that and thought of the farm animals. “If they had listened to me and helped me get rid of the mousetrap, they wouldn't have been killed.”
So, when you hear someone is facing a problem and thi nk it’s none of your business, remember: when one of us is in trouble, we will all probably be in danger.
