W elcome to sanya city ,the only tropical seaside tourist city in china ,renowned for orient hawaii.it will take about 30 minutes from the airport to the hotel you will check in .Now i'd like to make a brief introduction about sanya to you .

About its history ,the ancient name of sanya is yazhou (literally means cliff state ).Its history can be dated back to Qin Dynasty (221BC-206BC,more than 2200 years ago ).Since then ,it is always within the territory of the following dynasties of China .Being the tropical Ultima Thule of china ,it is so remote from the capital of china .therefore it is always called tianyahaijiao ,which means the end of the sky and ocean in chinese .some prime ministers in various dynasties were here in exile and an enlightened monk named jiangzhen accidentally sailed here and used this place as one of his harbors for his long Buddism-missionary journey to Japan .

About its general condition ,sanya city lies in the southernmost part of hainan island as well as that of china ,on the south china sea with the lcation between eighteen degrees ,nine minutes and nineteen degrees north latitude .The city has the area of 1919.58sq km and has population of about 60001000.its coastline is 209.1km long .its geographical location is similar to that of hawaii of America .Sanya City has a tropical climate ,a monsoon and maritime climate ,which is determined by its latitude and oceanic setting .the average temperature throughout the year is 25.4.and the average temperatures of sea-water range between 22 and 28. The transparency of sea-water is between 8m and 12m .Traditionally sanya's economic structure was mainly made up of farming and fishing .But since 1980s it has undergone a great change .Now apart from farming and fishing ,tourism is playing a more and more important role as a driver of its economic activity .It has become the most favorable tropical seaside resort for the Chinese people .More and more foreign tourists and vacationers are

falling in love with sanya .winter is the busiest tourism season of the year because of its tropical island climate and tourist attraction .

Sanya is famed as the brilliant pearl in hainan island .it has the most popular resources of tropical island resort,such as bright sunshine ,clean seawater ,fresh air ,and beautiful beaches .There are many natural tropical scenery and historical sites for the tourists to enjoy .They include yalong bay national resort zone ,tiayahaijiao ,luhuitou park ,nanshan cultural tourism zone ,small caves ,wuzhizhou island ,and sanya tropical oceanic zoo.

Sanya has had more fames .it was the first chinese city (excluding special administratve regions )to receive the olympic torch after its departure from Beijing ,in the 2008 Olympics held in Beijing .the city hosted the :

The city flower of sanya is the bougainyillea .when you go along the street ,or you are in the scenic spots ,you can see these green bushes with strings of red flowers as if flames in winter .The city tree of sanya is the tamarind tree with big trunk and thick leaves .it is rare to see that the tree is planted in lawns .However ,you can see stretches of tamarind trees in the Nanshan Cultural tourist zone .because of the tale of "the Deer Turning -Head ",sanya got the nickname of Deer City .

Speaking of local specialties ,they include handicrafts made of seashells ,horn-ware ,coconut shell carving products ,squid and pepper .By the way don't miss the chance to enjoy seafood here .They are very delicious .
