25.28.126 - Specific installation of Non Textile Floor (NTF)

Objective

To provide additional specific installation of NTF.

Basic aircraft

All NTF joints are welded (floormat to floormat) in all flat areas exposed to wear and tear, non PVC NTF except-ed.

Description

TDU 04: the NTF is installed in such a way that the joints are not in the main door way or walk ways in each gal-ley/entrance area.

TDU 07: sealing is applied at the outside (decor side) in-terface gap between all installed cabin monuments and the NTF in order to prevent migration of fluids under-neath or behind such monuments.

TDU 08: the NTF installation allows an easy replace-ment of NTF inside the galley without lifting the galley compartment.

The NTF split lines are neither underneath nor outside but inside the galley walls and there is one NTF joint for each galley compartment for easy replacement.TDU 09: extension of NTF installation at the aisle be-tween lavatories D and E in the aft passenger/crew/ser-vice door area.

Note

Welding

?silicone welding is technically not possible. For de-tailed description and information about the different NTF materials, please refer to the Airbus NTF selec-tion brochure.

?CN25.28.200/50, /51, /52 are silicone based NTF and must be sealed.

?weldability of non CCG / NTF brochure material to be checked.

?if the chosen NTF is not weldable or the customer re-quests the sealing of NTF joints, prior selection of CN25.28.126/11 is required.

25.28.200 - Non Textile Floor (NTF) covering selection in galley, entrance areas and

lavatories (SFE standard I)

Objective

To select alternate vendor/material for NTF for galley and entrance areas, and lavatories.

Basic aircraft

Floors in galley and entrance areas, and lavatories are covered with SFE NTF material.

Description

Floors in galley and entrance areas, and lavatories are covered with SFE NTF material as selected by the cus-tomer via relevant TDU.

If vendor GERFLOR is selected:

?galley and entrance areas are covered with a SFE NTF assembly. An NTF surface layer from GER-FLOR is bonded onto a laminate by WULFMEYER (This assembly is produced by WULFMEYER who bond a NTF surface layer from GERFLOR onto a laminate).

?lavatory floor are covered with a SFE NTF surface layer only.

?If AVR175A is selected, lavatory, galley and entrance floor areas are covered with a SFE NTF "all in one"

assembly entirely made by GERFLOR. Information:

Due to the light weight construction of all-in-one NTF, the aircraft floor panel surface profile moisture barrier overlapping areas and seat rail traces may be visible under certain light angles (telegraphing) when this NTF is installed in galley and entrance floor areas. This is an optical phenomenon and shall have no influence on the NTF quality or NTF installation quality.

At some floor panel edges NTF waving may come up in cruise flight and disappear after landing. This is caused by the NTF and cabin floor normal dynamic flexibility, and shall have no influence on the NTF quality or NTF installation quality.

Airbus reserves the right to refuse any NTF telegraph-ing or waving related claim.

If vendor METZELER is selected:

?galley and entrance areas, and lavatories are cov-ered with a SFE NTF assembly entirely made by METZELER.

25.28.200 - Non Textile Floor (NTF) covering selection in galley, entrance areas and

lavatories (SFE standard I) (Continued)

NTF standard I is approved by AIRBUS with the follow-

ing properties:

?fulfillment of ABD0031 (smoke density and toxicity)

and JAR/FAR 25.853 Appendix F part I para.

(a)(1)(ii) airworthiness requirements and other appli-

cable airworthiness requirements

?dimension stability (shrinkage and stretch)

?impact resistance

?static and sliding friction

?temperature resistance

?abrasion and tear resistance

?peel strength.
