I can’t swim but I have a strong fear of water. Look back at my childhood, I think that three reasons might explain fear. Firstly, I am not allowed to go near the water when I was a child, as my mother had an unreasonable fear of it. Therefore, I was taught to see to the water as something danger. Secondly, my eyes became bad when I was five. If I took off my glass in the water, I couldn’t see something, and this increased my fear. What’s worse, for a child I once saw a neighbor drowned. Since then I have been more frightening.

May I have your attention, please? I have anything important to tell you. Next Sunday afternoon , our class was going to hold an English story-telling competition in lecture hall. Everybody is required to take

part in the activity. Two foreign teacher will be invited to act as judges. The activity will benefit from you in many ways. Yesterday morning I was surprising to hear that my friend Allen had been hit by a car and was in hospital. The other day he is going to cr oss a street. He was very careful and didn’t go after he saw traffic lights turn green. But when he got the middle of the street he saw a car suddenly appear on her right-hand side and come directly towards him. That was too late for Allen to dodge(躲闪). He was hit by a car and thrown a few meter away. He was sent to hospital immediate and had an operation. When I went to see him last night, he out of danger but still looked pale.

Nowadays, a increasing number of people are joining in the activities of volunteering. It’s well-

known that volunteering job are making contributions to society with something in return. It’s like the Spirit of Lei Feng. Therefore, knowing this, there are still many people would like to devote themselves to this trend. For instance, the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games had such many volunteers. They make lots of contributions to the success of the Olympics. Moreover, we can often see many students go to visit the old to take warmth to them. Even though some people’s career is a v olunteer. They are ready to helping others. Although the volunteers are much more common, we still need to thank them in devoting themselves to society.

I was playing at my cousin house. Since his family was rich than mine, he had more toys than I d id. There was one on particular I’d always wanted. I put into my pocket when he wasn’t looking. I guessed, even at that age, I would never be able to enjoy to playing with the toy or faced my cousin again; I would always know I’d done something wrong. Late on, my aunt drove me home. When she dropped me off, I pulled out the toy slow and gave it back. She knows what had happened, but she thanked me and ever mentioned it again.

Miss Cooper was a teacher works at a school for boys and girls. She taught the chemistry for all the students from different grade in the school. Sometimes the new classes learned rapidly, but sometimes they were slowly. One day, one of the classes has been studying for minutes while Miss Cooper suddenly asked, “What is water?” Luckily, nobody could answer the question, so Miss Cooper felt sad. The moment Danny, who was not one of the brightest boys in the class, raised hand, Miss Cooper said in an exciting voice, “Please, Danny!”

“Water is a liquid what has no color until you wash your hands in it, then it turns grey,” replied the boy.
