Gender Inequality in Employment of College Graduates In recent years, the number of college graduates is skyrocketing (猛涨), while the number of job vacancies (空缺) is limited and seemingly shrinking. If you pay attention to the “want ads” in newspapers or o n the Campus Information Board, you can find words like “males preferably,” or even “males ONLY.” When hunting for jobs in the Talent Fair, female graduates are more likely to sense the bias in employment that favors male graduates over females.

The discrimination against females in employment widely exists for a variety of reasons. The employers have their sound reasons — women are not fit for some of the jobs they offer. Most employers believe that women would not devote themselves to their careers as much as men do, for they spend more time and energy on family life or housework. Apart from this, it is generally accepted that females are physically and intellectually inferior to males, so they are not able to contribute much due to their incapability. Furthermore, the biological difference is another obstacle that hinders women from obtaining certain positions.

As a matter of fact, it is not primarily biology that determines women’s roles in society, but social prejudices (偏见). Men have been viewed as the breadwinner of the family, while women are expected to take care of the children and to do the housework. The employers’ discrimination against females not only deprives them of the opportunity to fulfill their dreams, but greatly discourages them as well — even though their academic performances are better than males, the chances for them to get jobs are fewer. In reality, if females are treated similarly, they have the same potential as their male counterparts(男同胞)and can accomplish similar goals.

Nowadays, college graduates’ pressure on employment is so heavy, especially to the girls. The unfair employment distribution comes from many aspects. It seems to be rules for girls can not have high-level jobs.

For example, if a boy and a girl whose experience and background are almost the same both compete for a position of a company. There is no doubt that the boy would get the job though it is not so fair. The reason maybe that they think the girls would pay more attention on the family if she married or something else .no one can answer it exactly.

From my point of view, this phenomenon is difficult to overcome, because the traditional concepts affect us so deeply. But it is really a problem that is necessary to be solved. Therefore, in spite of the hardships we should seek egalitarianism which can guarantee females’ right to be employed equally.

Recent years it seems that girls are equal to boys. However, when they are getting out of the pure schoolyard and venture into the complicated society, they find themselves faced with many things different. Among them is sexism at work.

It begins with the job interview. Though females have made full preparation to cope with the situation, blatant sexism in the selection of staff will make it tough

for them to please the inter viewer and render him to nod. More vacancies are open only to males. Sometimes, females will be rejected just because of their sex.

When females are lucky enough to be employed by a company, don't you assume that they are regarded as equal to males. I confess that the work they do is equal, however, disappointing ly, the pay is not. Women may do no less work but earn much less than men. To make matters worse, they're confronted with great possibility to be fired due to their marriage and pregnancy. Natural features appear to be a burden on women.

According to me, the gender inequality in employment is a phenomenon of social injustice. This is a traditional convention of discrimination against women. In a word, we should seek egalitarianism in the future so that can guarantee female’s status and roles.

For a growing number of college students, employment has become a big concern of the public. It is universally acknowledged that there are tremendous employment pressure on college graduates, especially girls. When applying for an offer of employment, girls are usually in the inferior position. Many employers still discriminate in favor of men. They are apt to refuse girls with variety of reasons.

From my point of view, we should be more rational when it comes to gender inequality in employment of college graduates. As the matter of fact, the differences between boys and girls really do exist more or less. However, we are supposed to have an equal attitude to boys and girls in employment. I think if the girls have the same ability as boys, they ought to be given the opportunities. Only when girls and boys balance in the employment position, will the society be more harmonious and secure.

As the development of economy, there is no denying that female job-seekers are treated unequally in the workplace. Some employers set very high standards for their female employees who must be not only qualified in education, but also outstanding in personal appearance. It's widely acknowledged that the university's graduators, especially girls, are confronted with heavy working pressure in China. In the modern world, Gender inequality can be found in almost all walks of life in obvious and less obvious forms.

The employer will discriminate against girls in variety of reasons. Above all, compared with men, women have more physical disadvantages. Employer will say that men are more hard-working than women and the women’s work-time is always less than men. This is the main reason that occupational sexism has a high rate. Besides, female personnel are thought to focus more on their family rather than work. They will not put work into first position and spend more time on their family.

As far as I am concerned, the gender inequality in employment is a phenomenon of social injustice. I firmly believe that women should be given the same rights as men, because they are equally important in all human activities. This is a traditional convention of discrimination against women. In a word, we should seek egalitarianism in the future so that can guarantee female’s status and roles.
