Judge by Appearances

At the news of being the first to make the presentation, I was quiet surprised. Not having prepared it at length, so I am a bit of nervous at the moment. Ok, enough talk. Let’s get to the point.

It’s the essential social grace to treat others with equality instead of prejudice, whereas most of us take removal of much of it for granted. Just several days ago, I noticed a piece of news that six teachers who are from mountain areas were arrested by the police, four of whom were even beat severely, merely for their dressings make them look like bad men. How ridiculous it is！

I’m convinced that everybody here is bound to be taught not to judge others by their appearances, whereas reality is far from it. May be the following reasons can account for it After all, appearance is the first impression that we can leave on others. Many people have a common misunderstanding that the way he dresses is a truest portrayal of his manner, taste and status , in spite of a great number of facts telling us that the idea is a big mistake.

It’s widely acknowledged that “Parents are the best teachers.” In daily life, many parents are unable to live up to

what they taught children, much less do their children fail to do that. In other words, parents should set positive examples to their children, so the future generation is capable of following their footsteps.

Last but not least, this behavior has been a habit. We are accustomed to doing like that for a long time, as the saying goes that “A fox may grow gray, but never good.”

Frankly speaking, we can’t change the phenomenon thoroughly in no time. But we can go to great lengths to avoid it from now on. When making a judgment on someone, we should take both appearance and quality into consideration. In addition, everyone should increase the awareness of equality. As far as I’m concerned, if we want to have more harmonious lives, removing social inequities should be placed into priority.
