ABSTRACT Aim: To explore the effects of tripchlorolide on the expression of iNOS protein and the production of NO in brains of Alzheimer s disease rats. Methods: Alzheimer's disease model was established by injecting Aβ1-40 into rat hippocampus. Tripchlorolide was injected into abdominal cavity as the treatment method. The expression of iNOS protein was assessed by using immunohistochemical method, the NO level was assessed by nitrate reductase method. Results: The levels of iNOS and the NOx expressions were increased in the hippocampus of Aβ group compared with the sham operated group. The levels of iNOS and the NOx expressions were decreased in hippocampus of tripchlorolide group compared with Aβ group. Conclusion: Tripchlorolide could inhibite the expression of iNOS protein and the production of NO induced by Aβ1-40. (Alzheimer s disease AD) β Aβ)
