I am Allen Iverson. This is my story.
I was born with a single mother who was only 15 year old which means both of us have to learn about what roles to play in our life.
My childhood is a kind of disaster or so called catastrophe. I was just standing there, watching a bullet casted into my brother’s head. And then I heard the ring of police-car. There was nothing left except my dead brother, with blood all over the ground. It’s red, bloody red. I was chased by a fucking ass-hole for 5 avenues who aimed at me with a pistol and his damn purpose was just to freak the crap out of me!
When I slept on the freezing board of the jail, heard the chaos of these bastard cops, I felt cold, not because of the color of my skin, but the sight of the surroundings.
First time I become attached to the orange creature, it was about a pair of shoes. It sucks nowadays. But you can never imagine the excitement when I saw them. Basketball gave me a lot. I learnt how to be a leader, how to make friends, how to get your bros together. What really counted is that I learnt the concept: You will never win a game if you keep the ball in your hand. You should let it go, either score or assist. Gradually, I felt the shadow of my childhood split out of my body. That feels awesome

I have been in NBA for more than 10 years, with countless honors and failures. Rookie of the year in 1997, 4 times TOP scorer, Season MVP in 2001, All-star MVP in both 2001 and 2005. But throughout my career, my still vacant fingers, without any ring, reminds me of the miserable agony. Since my retirement several months ago, it turns out no sense to focus on all these fames. HEY, everyone. It may be the most glorious moment in my life. I have been bent on A.I. since his rookie season, since his soar on the court of Georgetown. That’s who AI is, after all he has been through in his childhood. That is a kind of called “jungle rules”, but it really works through the life of these kids who were brought up in the black community.
Allen’s another words which gave me a fucking shock is : When you stepped on the court, take it as the last time you were here. It dramatically reminds me of Steve Jobs. I think most of you have seen his speech on Stanford graduation. But I wonder that is there anyone who put his third point in a thought. “If you live each day as if it was your last, someday you will most certainly be right”. So it can’t be more important to ask yourself at the beginning of everyday. If today is the last of your life, what your want to do ? Remembering the death made most of you to figure out what you really want. You’re already naked, there is no reason not to follow your heart. So I just invite everyone, everyone sitting here, is there a moment you can be entirely open to your heart. Does it exist?
Got to face your heart, got to be more natural, that’s what you really deserve.
