M & B: Mum and Baby

In the M&B room, we also take care of parents, creating a community between them and teachers. This is good place where you can rest, share experiences and learn about the child development.

It is separated in four parts:

1. Preparation for birth

A French midwife, offers some courses for pregnant women .

In each session we discuss about different topics like:

- Little disagreement of being pregnant

- Different stages of labour

- Birth

- Respiration

- How to handle the stress

- After birth

- Breastfeeding

And we finish with a medically-proven relaxation.

2. Relaxation courses

We propose a mental-self help relaxation. You will be able to experience instant of relief from stress symptoms and profound deep relaxation...

3. DIY Workshops

Making together beautiful mobiles for babies and activities for children to support their development at home, such as : Munari, Octahedron, Gobbi, ...

4. Montessori conferences

Talks about different topics about parents and children development such as : routine before birth, weaning, development of language, development of self-confidence ...

NIDO: From 3 months to 18 months

In the NIDO, we have 2 sections : Baby NIDO and walking NIDO.

Babies will be able to explore the Montessori materials and improve their personal development with their parents, teachers and others children.

This beautiful environment is divided into the following areas :

Movement mat area :

This place is for very young babies, they are lying down and looking at the beautiful mobiles. The child is free to move as around hi everything is safe. We will have some little materials for babies to look at, grasp, shake and share with others.

Book corner area :

A corner where mum and baby can read books together. Learn how to hold a book, listen to a story and discover many beautiful and real stories about life. (In both sections)

Crawling / Pulling up / Standing up area / Walking :

Hand made, designed activities where the child will be able to practice crawling up and down very low steps, pulling his body up in order to strength his back, shoulders, arms ... And other materials allowing the child to practice his first steps safely and with joy.

Working area :

Some purposeful, educational materials for the child to explore. Allowing him to practice eye-hand coordination, strengthening fingers, discovering interesting concepts, collaborating with another child. (In both sections)

Music Area :

A shelf with small musical instruments available for the child to play and explore different sounds.We will do little groups and play music together.

Language area :

A shelf with lots of interesting activities for the child to develop his language and increase a rich, beautiful vocabulary. Parents will be able using their mother tongue to do these activities.

Practical life area :

An area where children will learn to take care of themselves and the environment acquiring a skill and developing logical thinking, problem solving, coordination between body and mind, self-confidence and much more.

Weaning area :

Tables will be set up for children to start eating by themselves. Parents can bring little snacks and the child will learn how to set up a table and eat independently. We will always have fruits available.

Sleeping area :

Some small beds will be prepared, if a child is feeling tired and wishes to rest for a little while.

I.C: From 18 months to 36 months

In the INFANT COMMUNITY, children will be on the second floor and will join this new and beautiful environment by themselves. They will say goodbye to their parents at the door.

It is a bilingual place : English and Mandarin.

We have two infant communities linked and children will share these different areas :

Working area:

Purposeful, beautiful and Montessori educational materials for the child to explore and consolidate his knowledge. Children will work at a table, learning to take one activity at a time and putting it back. It’s ready for a friend after using it. Children wi ll value the sense of work and develop a love for learning and discovering more about their environment. They will work independently and in groups depending on the activities.

Practical life area:

Lots of activities for the child to develop hand and body coordination, taking care of himself, of others and the environment. Practical life will help the child to gain more self-confidence, perseverance, logical thinking, concentration, sense of responsibilities and strengthening the will.

Language area:

Man y prepared activities in order to take further the child’s vocabulary with joy and understanding. It will be bilingual, he will learn parallel both languages. All of these activities are training the child indirectly for writing and reading.

Book corner area:

A corner to rest and find out more about books. Children will be able to sit together and enjoy reading next to each other. It will be a place where the teacher will tell and read stories inspiring the children.

Music area:

Close to the piano, a little shelf with interesting musical instruments allowing children to explore different sounds and materials fro; all around the world. We play music everyday, sing, dance and perform.

Art area:

Painting easels and a large chalk board will be always available to the children. We will have different style of art activities on shelves, changed over often so that children can explore a

variety of art.

Sky garden area:

A garden area where children will be able to plant flowers, fruits and vegetables. A place for them to relax, but also to take responsibilities and learn how to take care of a garden.

Cooking area:

Cooking is very important for the children’ personal development, especially for self confidence and preparation for mathematics. We will have a safe ‘’real little kitchen’’ where they will have the opportunity to cook and prepare delicious food for themselves and others. It brings the sense of community and responsibilities.

Toilet area:

Beautiful small toilets, encouraging children’ independence and a place for them to change by themselves as much as possible.

Saturday’s Escapade...

Saturday's Escapade welcomes children from 2 to 12 years old. They will be encouraged to develop independence, self confidence, creativity, social interaction, and experience activities with joy and respect.

In each group :

- 10 children maximum

- One hour class

- Learn a skill

- Learn a language

- Create some things

And take home what they have made ...
