Last Friday was my grandfather’s birthday. To celebrate his birthday, we made many preparations. Early in the morning, my parents and I set off for the department store to find a gift for Grandpa. We chose very carefully, eventually a warm sweater caught our eye and was purchased.

To give my grandpa a pleasant surprise, I decided to bake a birthday cake. With mom’s help, it still took me a long time since it was my first homemade cake. The moment the cake was out of the oven, the celebration began. Everybody sat around the table. With candles lit, we sang happy birthday out loud and clapped. A big smile spread across my grandpa’s face. After making a wish, he blew out the candles. The room was alive with the sound of cheering. Watching Grandpa enjoy every mouthful of the cake, a great sense of achievement came over me.

We took a picture of the whole family to record the happy moment. When I saw tears of happiness in Grandpa’s eyes, I was filled with a feeling of accomplishment and happiness.

At last, we came up with a great idea and a flea market was held in the school yard to appeal students to sell their old things and raise money.
