CV的介绍、写法、范例
CV是Curriculum vitae的简称,也有的人叫Curriculum vita。有人解释说,curriculum vitae就是course of life,用“人生的过程”来解释比较恰当,汉语把它翻译成“简历”,但是,也有不同的地方。

关于CV的写法,是个非常有争议的话题。如果问两个人:“什么样的CV才更完美?”,一定会得到两个不同的答案。专家总是用“DO”或者“DON'T”以及一大堆的“常见错误”让我们觉得这些东西更加神秘和可畏。

不要指望有一份完美而且权威的CV,如果你登陆到亚马逊书店,可以看到很多教你如何写CV的大部头书籍,另外,在国外,还有很多专门替别人写CV的公司,他们声称可以写出让对方印象深刻的CV,每份收费几百美金。

CV到底是什么呢?在欧洲申请大学、找工作等等,一般都需要它。我们可能还知道有个类似的东西,叫Resume,申请过加拿大移民的人不会忘记这个东西。一般来说,CV比Resume略为严格一些,更要突出一下本人的专业背景和实力。curriculum vitae这个名称其实有点文绉绉的味道,难怪很多人把它当成了“成绩单”,如果我们把它理解为“人生的成绩单”就比较确切了,有人比喻说:“CV是一份按年代顺序排列成的购物单,上面列出了这些年来你究竟买到手了哪些东西,而不是单单是描述一下你这些年来你买东西的历史”。

在欧洲,除了英国以外,虽然每个国家对CV的格式和内容等方面的要求各不相同,但是,即使是仅仅找工作,所有的国家要求的也都是CV,而不是那种随意的 Resume,而在美国,似乎只有申请大学的时候才需要CV,这也许是欧美文化方面的小小不同。普遍的意见认为,如果找工作,CV一般写成大约两篇左右的样子(A4),这样的篇幅已经很多了,除非您的专业经验非常丰富,才可以写更多。如果申请大学,要看具体的要求,也就是说要看火候,有的时候也不是多多益善。

比如说,法语鲁汶要求的CV是这个样子的(Department of Economics ):
A complete CV includes:
? personal information (name, citizenship,etc)
? mailing address and possibly telephone/fax
? e-mail address (desirable)
? university degrees
? possible publications
? possible professional experience

VUB心目中的CV却是这样的(Faculty of Law):
The curriculum vitae should be narrative and give a picture of the applicant as a person. It should deal with personal history, special interests and abilities, future plans, etc. It may not be a mere listing of facts or a simple restatement of the application.
所以,有的时候孤立地谈CV也不恰当,还要看具体的要求。

CV要点:
CV是一个人所经历过的各种活动、荣誉以及其他信息的列表。和RESUME一

样,CV应该包括你的名字、联系信息、受教育的经历、技能以及工作经验。除了这些它还应该包括你的你的科研或者教学经历、论文以及专著的列表、曾经获得过的各种奖励和荣誉、曾经得到的专业证书(例如工程师资格证书)、获得的专业协会资格、你的兴趣所在、未来的发展计划以及其他详细信息等等。

CV的长度:
写得太长,大概是最普遍的错误。我们认为,CV应该简洁,去掉废话,2页是通常最长的篇幅。如果工作专业经验不多的话,1页会更有意义。

CV的细节:
对方不感兴趣的信息简写或者,干脆不写。有的时候,建议仅仅用年份来叙述你的经历,而不是精细到月份。

你的历史:
把你的重心放到对近期经历的描述上。还有,如果你已经达到了LEVEL 2的水平,过分详细地描述你的LEVEL 1状态就有些意义不大,除非你在LEVEL 1的时候非常优秀。对方更感兴趣的是你的现在,虽然他们也很关心你的过去。

你的兴趣和各种活动:
容易发生的错误是在这部分写得太多,使CV的风格很象美国式的RESUME,所以建议这部分尽力保持简洁。

关于推荐人:
在CV上,最好不要包括推荐人的详细信息。这样会使CV显得混乱,尤其是,如果你的推荐人被打扰了,还有可能在被询问的时候还以一个对你毫无益处的回答。实际上,CV不是推荐信,很少有要求提供推荐人的详细信息的。

CV范例
这个范例来自一家国外的CV写作中心。当然应该是比较专业了。但是,还是那句话,大家一定要酌情参考,具体写作的时候还要根据具体的要求和自己的具体情况,如果没有这个人那样非同寻常的履历,就可以大大削减篇幅。不要一味效仿。还有一点,有人会问:上面刚刚说过——在CV上,最好不要包括推荐人的详细信息。可是这个范例中就恰恰相反,是不是自相矛盾呀!

最后讲一件事情从前,有个学生,在申请美国某大学医学系的时候,这样写自己的MOTIVATION:我出生在中国一个小村庄,小的时候,我的家乡很贫困,医疗设施和技术都很落后,很多人得了疾病之后由于得不到及时的治疗而落下了终身的残疾甚至从此离开了人世,这些经历震撼了我,使我从小就立志要掌握世界上最先进的医疗技术,为我的同胞们解除痛苦。所以,上大学的时候,我毫不犹豫地报考了中国最好的医学院,并以优异的成绩毕业了,但是,这些成绩满足不了我,为了我国的医疗事业赶上世界先进水平,我还要……结果,这名申请者被录取了,后来,也许是巧合,又有人这样写,也被录取了。再后来,写作中心给很多人都这样写,还有的干脆把它公布出来成了范文,结果这篇文章成了最烂的文章。教授只要看了头几行,就知道后面的内容了。

生活中没有永远正确的道理,固步自封会影响自己能力的发挥,别人的东西只能参考,真正适合自己的东西还要靠自己来创造。
