A Scene to Remember

Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.

Today I would like to begin with a story.

There was once a physical therapist(临床医学家) who traveled all the way from America to Africa to do a census(调查) about mountain gorillas(大猩猩). These gorillas are a main attraction to tourists from all over the world; this put them severely under threat of poaching(偷猎) and being put into the zoo. She went there out of curiosity, but what she saw strengthened her determination to devote her whole life to fighting for those beautiful creatures. She witnessed a scene, a scene taking us to a place we never imaged we've ever been, where in the very depth of the African rainforest, surrounded by trees, flowers and butterflies, the mother gorillas cuddled(拥抱) their babies.

Yes, that's a memorable scene in one of my favorite movies, called Gorillas in the Mist, based on a true story of Mrs. Dian Fossey, who spent most of bet lifetime in Rwanda to protect the eco-environment there until the very end of her life. To me, the movie not only presents an unforgettable scene but also acts as a timeless(永恒的) reminder that we should not develop the tourist industry at the cost of our

eco-environment.

Today, we live in a world of prosperity but still threatened by so many new problems. On the one hand, tourism, as one of the most promising industries in the

21st century, provides people with the great opportunity to see everything there is to see and to go any place there is to go. It has become a lifestyle for some people, and has turned out to be the driving force in GDP growth. It has the magic to turn a backward town into a wonderland of prosperity. But on the other hand, many problems can occur---natural scenes aren't natural anymore. Deforestation to heat lodges is devastating Nepal. Oil spills from tourist boats are polluting Antarctica. Tribal people are forsaking their native music and dress to listen to U2 on Walkman and wear Nike and Reeboks.

All these appalling(令人震惊的) facts have brought us to the realization that we can no longer stand by and do nothing, because the very thought of it has been eroding(侵蚀) our resources. Encouragingly, the explosive growth of global travel has

put tourism again in the spotlight, which is why the United Nations has made 2002 the year of ecotourism, for the first time to bring to the world's attention the benefits of tourism, but also its capacity to destroy our eco-environment.

Now every year, many local ecoenvironmental protection organizations an: receiving donations--big notes, small notes or even coins--from housewives, plumbers(水管工人), ambulance drivers, salesmen, teachers, children and invalids(残

疾人), Some of them can not afford to send the money but they do. These are the ones who drive the cabs, who nurse in hospitals, who are suffering from ecological damage in their neighborhood. Why? Because they care, because they still want their Mother Nature back. Because they know it still belongs to them.

1.感恩

The poet said: spring flowers to the door pushed open 。I said: Thanksgiving to the door pushed open the living. If you carefully listen to the voices of flowers, are everywhere harmonious life movement.

诗人说：花朵把春天的门推开了。我说：感恩把生活的门推开了。只要你用心去听花开的声音，生活到处都是和谐的乐章。

Then, as a middle school student, how Thanksgiving?

那么，作为一名中学生，怎样感恩呢?

First Thanksgiving their parents, because everyone%26#39;s life is a continuation of the parents of one blood, all of the parents gave us love, let us enjoy the human world of affection and happiness, therefore, we would like to thank the parents.

首先要感恩自己的父母，因为每个人的生命都是父母血脉的延续,父母给了我们全部的爱,让我们享受到了人世间的亲情和幸福，因此,我们要感谢父母。

Teachers are our growth领路人, are our friends, teachers care for us , their words and deeds, let us benefit for life, we pay for teachers efforts and sweat, we should Thanksgiving teachers.

老师是我们成长的领路人，是我们的朋友，老师爱护我们，言传身教，让我们受益终身，老师为我们付出心血和汗水，我们应该感恩老师。

Students study the lives of our fellow students to encourage each other, help each other, to jointly overcome difficulties and setbacks, the common taste of success and happiness learning, we should be grateful for every day and we accompanied the students.

2. 英语

As everyone knows，English is very important today. It has been used everywhere in the world. It has become the most common language on Internet and for international trade. If we can speak English well，we will have more chance to succeed. Because

more and more people have taken notice of it，the number of the people who go to learn English has increased at a high speed.

But for myself，I learn English not only because of its importance and its usefulness，but also because of my love for it. When I learn English，I can feel a different way of thinking which gives me more room to touch the world. When I read English novels，I can feel the pleasure from the book which is different from reading the translation. When I speak English，I can feel the confident from my words. When I write English，I can see the beauty which is not the same as our Chinese...

I love English，it gives me a colorful dream. I hope I can travel around the world one day. With my good English，I can make friends with many people from different countries. I can see many places of GRE at intrests. I dream that I can go to London，because it is the birth place of English.

I also want to use my good English to introduce our GRE at places to the English spoken people，I hope that they can love our country like us.

I know，Rome was not built in a day. I believe that after continuous hard study，one day I can speak English very well.

3.友谊

Friendship

Every one of us, rich or poor, should at least have one or two good friends. My friends will listen to me when I want to speak, will wipe my eyes when I cry, will take care of me when I am sick, and my friends will go together with me side by side through this journey of life.

As students, we could share more time with our friends. The friendship in our young hearts is pure, fresh and simple. I often feel very lucky to have a lot of good friends. Especially when I had Justin as one of my best friends. Justin was my English teacher from the USA. I met him in 1996 when I was a student who could only speak very little English. Justin was a vivid young man with a bright smile on his face, and he always had his special way to make the class active and attractive. He taught us English by telling stories, playing games, singing songs, and even dancing. I could still remember very clearly that one afternoon when we fin-ished our class, we went to some other classes to sing songs for them, just like what people do in the states on Christmas Eve. It was so interesting and unforgettable. Justin was an excellent teacher, bec ause he taught us not only how to study English well, but also the way to find out the beauty of the world and the way to be angels to others' lives. I know there was friendship and pure love in our hearts. Facing this valuable emotion neither nationality nor age was important, the real importance lay in faith, under-standing, and care. Justin is the best friend I have ever had, and I

know I will cherish those days of staying together with him as the best part of my memory.

Friendship is a kind of treasure in our lives. It is actually like a bottle of wine, the longer it is kept, the sweeter it will be. It is also like a cup of tea. When we are thirsty, it will be our best choice, but when we have enough time to enjoy ourselves, it is also the most fragrant drink.

However, in this fast-developing modern society, the reality is not that. More and more people forget to enjoy the beauty of life and -the beauty of friendship. They work hard in order to gain a higher position, in the society and to earn more money for their work. Of course, we don't deny that it is important to find a bet-ter place in our lives, but we wish more and more people could pay a little more attention to themselves and their friends. All of us have to spare some time for personal lives. We have to find the chance to express our emotion and love. When staying with our friends, we can release ourselves completely. We can do whatever we want, we can laugh together, talk together, and even cry to-gether. I should say that being together with our best friends is the most wonderful moment of our lives.

As we know, we would feel lonely if we didn't even have a friend. But it doesn't mean we could depend on our friends all the time. There is a famous motto saying that “A friend is like a quilt with cotton wadding, but the real thing that keeps you warm is your own temperature.” I t is really true. We have to work hard together with our friends, encourage each other and help each other. When we receive love and friendship, we should repay as much as we can.

Finally, let's pray together now that one day, all of us could find the person we want to find, and could enjoy a real beautiful friendship in our lives. Let's pray the flower of friendship be-tween our friends and us would always bloom brightly in our hearts.

4. 微笑

good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen! today i’d like to share my personal experience of happiness and bitterness of being an english teacher. i remember, five years ago, when i stood at the teacher’s desk for the first time, maybe because i was too young, maybe because i was too inexperienced, the students in my class paid no attention to me, didn’t behave themselves at all. i felt ashamed and helpless. in order to save my face, i just criticized the students seriously whenever they talked in class or even moved a little. i thought sooner or later, they would listen to me. yes, i could control the class now, but the students and the atmosphere became strange. no, they were not listening to me. it was too quiet. the breathless silence urged me to consider the way i was teaching. then 1 august XX, i got the chance to study the new course of english. until then could i realized that it was my frozen eyes that make the students flinch, it was my stiff face that trod out the enthusiasm in the children’s hearts. how to stimulate my class and show my warmth, so that they can enjoy their study in english? i had a deep thought. it’s smile. there is a kindness called smile.

it is the most beautiful language in the world. it can make distance no distance. “just awake the students with a smiling face!”i said to myself. the next day, when i stood on the stage with a smiling face, when i asked the questions with a smile, when i encouraged the children in a friendly way, the students were just shocked! but i could find there was more happiness and excitement in their eyes! gradually, they got used to it, and participated in my teaching. as i predicted, that class became a lovely one. i was moved, and said“thank you for listening, boys and girls!” in the following days, i keep on working even harder. i prepare my lessons carefully. i use flash, pictures, riddles, and interesting stories to make great efforts to help the students to learn more. but i will never forget one thing: smile, give them a smile, to give them strength, to let them feel happy, to make them confident. the children do enjoy the english lesson now, when they tell me the answers in great excitement, i can feel their gladness, and my smile is more sincerely than ever! there is kindness called smile. from the children’s yearning eyes, i understand, it is smile that makes my students and i get closer, it is smile that fills the kindness to my english class, it is smile that shapes me popular english teacher finally. t hat’s all. thank you very much!

5.环保

2 Safety is in our hands .We must take park in more environmental protection activities, Plant more trees and flowers to make us live in a beautiful home with the blue sky ,blue water and green land forever.

We all know Tagore. This famous Indian poet once said, “Life is given to us, and we earn it by giving it.” As the saying goes, nature is given to us, and we earn it by contributing to it. However, most people nowadays just want to ask for more from the nature. In fact, they do very little contribution to the nature. Therefore, the environment around us is becoming worse and worse.

Do you often use batteries? Then do you know it takes 50 times more energy to make them than they produce? And just one simple battery can pollute as much water

as a person can drink in his whole life. The facts and figures are amazing. So would you please try to use batteries only when it is necessary? If possible, give the used ones to the recycling companies so that they will be made into new ones and won’t be able to pollute the environment any more. Sometimes we become complacent when it comes to recycling, but when you speak in terms of actual facts and figures that everybody can understand, people become much clearer about the problem.

We, as school students, can also join in recycling activities to protect the environment. For example, our class set up a recycling center beside the back door, it is very useful. It is used to collect the waste paper and plastic bottles. In the past, our classmates used to throw all of these into the trashcan. At the very beginning of this collecting activity, it was not so warm-welcomed. Later, more and more people were influenced by the others and joined this collecting activity. Gradually, all the students in our class form a good habit to protect the environment. All of us will now put away the reusable things instead of throwing them into the trashcan.

We should always remember in our mind that protecting the environment is our duty that we can never neglect. Finally would you please let me end this speech with a little poem, “Be kind to the river. Be good to the trees. Smile at the sunshine, and bow to the breeze. Be fri endly to nature, and nature will be friendly to you!”

On a Saturday morning. I went to have breakfast. I felt there was a terrible smell and went over to have a look carefully. I found that there was a big pile of banana skins giving out the smell. Just then a young fellow holding a dustpan rubbish to walk towards here . He raised his hands, The big pile of rubbish was here. At once I went to him and said “Uncle , you can’t do like this . These things will rot very soon. It’s bad for our health and make the people fall ill.” However ,the man said “Everyone does so ,who falls ill,who will see the doctor.”

Looking at this , I remembered another act : There is a stream through our village. Over it there are two bridges .At the age of seven years old , I enjoyed the beautiful scenery under the bridge very much. It was the best place to swim in summer. But now the rubbish was getting more and more .Dish leaves,fruit skins,dead ducks and chickens….after rot ting ,not only the mosquitos flew around but also the bad smell made everyone feel quite terrible.Though the stream was cleaned up several times, it’s still happening now. A lot of plastic bags always float on it .In summmer we have to go far away from the village to swim.

What causes this? Who is the devil?It’s the human ourselves. I have got to known from a book .The rubbish in the countryside mostly occupies the fields and damages the earth’s surface .It pollutes soil,wave ,atmosphere and damages our h ealth.

The adults often say “The body is capital.” But why are they able to make woollen cloth like this ? Does it affect everybody’s safe and sound life ?

Schoolmates, we are the host of society tomorrow . It’s our duty to improve and build the safe invironment.

6.坚持

results are not important, but they can persist for many years as a commemoration of . many years ago, as a result of habits and overeating formed one of obesity, as well as indicators of overall physical disorders, so that affects my work and life. in friends to encourage and supervise, the participated in the team now considered to have been more than three years, neither the fine rain, regardless of winter heat, a day out with 5:00 time. the beginning, have been discouraged, suffering, and disappointment, but

in the end of the urging of friends, to re-get up, stand on the playground.

俗话说：“骐骥一跃，不能十步，驽马十驾，功在不舍”。真的，人非常需要这种楔而不舍的精神。在坚持晨跑这件上，确实是需要非常毅力的。每天要坚持早睡早起，要按照固定的作息时间，悠闲散漫的日子一去不返，特别是晚上不能

休息太迟，改变了生活方式，这在年轻人看来，简直是不可思议的事，因为早上五点钟，天微微亮，正是做梦的好时光。曾经有朋友笑话说，你们都过上了老年生活。实际上，我们已经不能再做梦了，只有树立目标，下定决心，勇往直前地朝着一个方向前进，理想终将实现。曾经单位女同事评我为“最有毅力男人”，我想她们给了过高的评价，或许她们看到我比较执着的一面吧。

When you speak ,don't care how poorly or how well you speak just care about catching the chance to speak ,enjoy losing face or just forget your face because the more you speak the better your english will become, never afraid of making mistakes because the more mistakes you make the more progress you will make. as a man living in the world ,we must try our best to make each day our masterpiece and don't let our parents down ,don't ever let our country down ,most importantly don't let ourself down.

Yesterday is a memory tomorrow is a dream so live for today just do it right now.i believe if you can dream it you can make it ,if you do you will win if you don't you won't. Believe in youself trust youself try your best. don't give up ,never give in, never lose hope ,never say impossible .the success is coming ! thank you !
