How to learn English

Teaching Plan

I.Teaching aims:

The unit is focused on practicing the students' listening and speaking ability, the vocabulary as well as the sentence structure is hard for the students to grasp.Moudle1 also require student to remember the correct way of English study.

II.Knowledge point:

1.Vocabulary and Phrases：

Translate, translation, correct, match, number, repeat, grammar, pronunciation, writing, punctuation, spelling, term, advice, write down, mistake, notebook, else, radio, newspaper, message, pen friend, each, other, each other, excellent,write down，each other，next to，try not to，help…with…,

2.Key sentences:

①. Why don’t you + v. 原

②. How about + v. -ing

③What else?

④That’s a good idea.

⑤It’s a good idea to + v. 原

⑥try (not) to + v. 原

3.Pronunciation and speaking:

Listen and repeat in Activity 6.Following the tape and repeat the sentences: Why don’t you write it down ?What else? That’s a good idea. Thanks a lot.

4.Grammar:

①Expressions of suggestion(建议表达法):

2) Should I do … ?

3) How about doing …?

②. some advice :一些建议

advice 不可数n(名词), 不加s

③ be going to do sth 打算做某事:

be going to +动词原形eg: I am going to see my uncle / climb the hill / play football next Saturday.

④try to do sth=do one’s best to do sth 尽力做某事

try not to do sth 尽量不做某事

III.Teaching method

Top-down approach , listening to the tape and do some exercises/activities and task-based. At the same time, using Interactive approach and Communicate approach. IV.Teaching process:

1.Lead-in & Warming up:

Welcome back to school , everyone! Did you have a good time in summer holiday ? Where did you go ? I‘m happy to see you again.It’s a new term.We have learnt English

for several years . Can you tell me how to learn English ?

2.Listening and vocabulary:

Match the words with the headings . Some words go with more than one heading in Activity 1.Listen and match words with the conversations in Activity 2 .

3.Listening and reading：

First encourage students to tell the meaning of words in activity 2 and try to give some examples for each item, and then ask them to listen to the conversations and match them..

4.Repeating and acting：

Work in pairs . Ask and answer the questions .Use the notes you wrote in Activity 4 to help you .

V.summary:

During this part,students should get to know the key vocabulary, understand the dialogue 3 and be able to talk about the problems in learning English.
