Babies love chocolate and sometimes they also eat the paper around it. My cat enjoys a meal of goods, thick paper and letters, for example. She does not like newspapers very much.

Of course, the best paper comes from wood. Wood comes from trees, and trees are plants. Vegetables and fruit are plants too, and we eat a lot of them. So can we also eat wood and paper?

Scientists say, “All food comes in some way from plants.”Well , is that true? Animals eat grass and grow fat. Then we eat their meat. Little fish eat little sea plants; then bigger fish swim aong and eat them. Chicken eat bits of grass and give us meat. Think for a minute. What food does not come from plants in some way?

Scientists can do wonderful things with plants. They can make food just like meat and cheese. And they can make it without the help of animals. Now they have begun to say,“We make our paper from wood. We can also make food from wood. The next thing is not very difficult.”What is the next thing? Perhaps it is food from paper. Scientists say, “We can turn paper into food. It will be good, cheap food too; cheaper than meat or fish or eggs.”

So please keep your old books and letters. Don′t feed them to your cat. One day, soon they will be on your plate. There is nothing like a good story for breakfast.

Teachers and parents also should find times to communicate to teenagers and find solution that can be accepted by everyone.

Star Student of learning from Lei Feng

Li Hua has been awarded the title of “Star Student of Learning from Lei Feng”for his excellent performance. On his way home, Li Hua noticed an old lady had fallen to the ground and went up to help her without hesitation the other day. After moving her to safety, he dialed 120 and the granny got timely treatment in hospital.

There is no doubt that such spirit should be encouraged. Firstly, it has been one of the traditional chinese virtues to help those in trouble. Secondly, people nowadays seem to be getting more and nore unwilling to help others, especially the aged. Therefore, Li Hua’s behavior is of great importance to awaken our awareness of helping others.

Finally, I suggest that all of us learn from LiHua and always be ready to help others in need. Only in this way can we make our world a more harmonious place to live in.
