Racial Discrimination Cannot Be Eliminated In modern America, there exists a fashionable trend that there is no racial discrimination in their country. While great strides have been made to improve race relations in some areas, for example, the black people got right to vote with the enacting and promulgating of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, there is statistical evidence to show that racial discrimination in America is still disturbingly commonplace. The Caucasian and black people are not truly equal and free, there still exist some problems and these problems may never be solved. From my point of view, the racial discrimination cannot be eliminated.

The reasons leading to racial discrimination in America are various. The most conspicuous two are racial superiority and the lower economic status of the Blacks, which are also the primary reasons that I use to prove my opinion.

First of all, the racial superiority is the source of racial discrimination. In America, why it is difficult to solve the Negro problem? The answer is that the humble positions of the Negro are deeply rooted in the minds of white people. Let me explain it in detail. In early American culture, the white represent purity, truth, innocence and hope. In most western countries white is the color for brides, and angels are typically depicted as wearing white. While black represent evil, falsehood, error, grief, despair and death, in early America film, the good guy always wore

white while the bad guy wore black. So when Englander first saw the black people in Africa, they realized that there are some differences between them and they considered the Blacks as inferior and rude. The dark skin, curly hair and thick lips are signs of beauty in Africa, while for Englander it is very disgusting. Different people have different taste according to their own culture, it should be perfectly normal. But in the days of colonial expansion, winner-takes-the-entire-world was the principle. The England won, the Africa failed, so the white people always related black people with loser. In other words, if people want to eliminate racial discrimination, they need to change American traditional culture and the result of war. It is known to all that it’s impossible, so the racial discrimination will never be eliminated.

Besides, the economic statuses of black people are far lower than white people’s, the poor living conditions and lower educational level of black people cause vicious circle and enlarge the distance. The discriminatory thought is deep-rooted in American mind, referring to many aspects of social life. According to the statistics, the number of black people living under low-income level is three times more than the white. So if people want to eliminate the racial discrimination, they need to improve the economic statuses of black people and surpass the white people. It’s a big project and can hardly be achieved, so the racial discrimination can never be eliminated.

To sum up, because of the whites racial superiority and the lower economic status of the Blacks, the racial discrimination can never be eliminated.
