To raise interest of knowing about different kinds of animals and love and protect them.

Step 1 Leading in

1. Watch a video about a kind of animal.

2. Ask question at the beginning and the end of watching.

T: What animal is it? T: What animal actually is it?

S: It is a mouse.(可用汉语回答)S: It is a panda.

T: Do you like it? T: Do you like it?

S: No, I don’t. S: Yes, I do.

T: Why don’t you like it? T: Why do you like it?

S: Because it is ugly.(老师可帮着说出)S: Because it is cute

Now, let’s go to the zoo to see more animals..

Step 2 Presentation

1. Have students look at the pictures and read the words about animals.

2. Play a guessing game to memorize the words.

3. Have students look at the pictures and learn some description words.

Step 3 Practice ( 1c )

1. Ask Ss whether they like these animals and reasons.

2. Let Ss practice the conversation with their partners.

Step 4 Listening( 2a, 2b )

Let Ss listen to the tape.

1. The first time, write the animals in 2a.

2. The second time, draw lines in 2a.

3. The third time, finish 2b.

Step 5 Pairwork( 2c )

Let Ss talk about the other two animals in 2a with a partner.

Step 6 Exercise

Write names about animals according to some description sentences.

Step7 Moral education

Today, Animals are becoming fewer and fewer because of killing and pollution, what should we do? Now let’s watch a video about some famous people how to protect animals.

Animals are our friends. We should love them and protect them. Please remember: No sale , No killing!

Step 8 Homework

Translate some sentences into English.
