Mistakes are part of life. To make a mistake is human. Failure is also part of life, not the end of life. Be happy to face challenges in your life. When you make the effort to be happy, you are actually rewarded.
Life is like a game and maybe you can award points for every effort that has been a success for you. Try it. Add ten points for every achievement. And when you have reached 50 points, just cheer, “Hey, I have won!” and give yourself a reward. If you happen to have missed your points for whatever reason, tell yourself, “well, I tried!” which is better than not trying at all. Don’t let it be said you didn’t try.
What is it that you want to make yourself happy? Actually happiness means different things to different people. For example, an athlete will be happy to win his first race. For a new mother, happiness would be seeing her baby’s first steps. Happiness for a poor person would mean having a meal just for today. So happiness for you is really something simple that you want for yourself.
It really doesn’t have to be big. As a matter of fact, you should be always realistic. Make the best out of every given situation. It’s not easy to find a person with the qualities that makes himself a hero. I didn’t really understand the meaning of the word “hero” until my third year in the college.
If you saw her, you wouldn’t think she really loo ks the part, but she is stronger than superman could ever be. Her name is Sandra Keierleber. I first met her at volleyball tryouts, but didn’t notice anything special at first. As the week passed, however, she showed she was much tougher than anyone. She stood out because she never gave up, no matter what happened.
Sandra isn’t the tallest or the fastest, in fact, this was her first time playing volleyball, but that didn’t stop her. She was always the first to arrive and the last to leave. It is true that people with better education are usually able to get better paying jobs. In other words, they have more chances to choose a good job while people with little or no education don’t. It seems that the purpose of education is to make people get jobs. But this isn’t accepted by all people.
Some people may think that a person should spend the best years of his life to get education only for a way of living. This was probably one of the earliest reasons of education. In fact, if education is just a way of making a living, people don’t need to spend so much time in school. People can get education for a living in a short time. Subjects like history and geography need not be taught to everyone. Even language and mathematics need not be taught in detail(详细地), either.
Here it is clear that education is much more than teaching a man to get a way of living.
Education is well-rounded and it is mainly for improving a man. It is not only to teach him to speak, read and write, but also to develop his creative thinking and other abilities. After that, it is to make him a wise man and thankfully enjoy the achievements of human. Education is to make a man lead a better life.
