1.Ask three students for different school objects. Say: May I have a

pencil? Thank you. May I borrow a book? Thanks. May I have an eraser? Thank you.

2.Return the objects to the students and tell them that today they will

learn how to ask for something and give thanks in English. Then make up a dialogue：

Teacher：Do you know what to say after someone says “thank you ”in English？student：You are welcome. Teacher：Very good .It’s not polite to just ask for something. We should s ay “thank you ”and “you are welcome”.

Class work: Before you play the song, review the actions with the class. Say each action as you do it and ask the class to imitate you. Teacher: Stand up! Class: Stand up! Play the audiotape for Stand up, Sit down and ask the class to imitate you as you do the action. They don’t have to sing the song, but encourage your students to try.
