Good morning, everyone! Today, it is my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. This is a listening and speaking lesson and I will introduce my lesson designing from following aspects.

Analysis of teaching material

Unit 1, Festivals around the World, is from PEP, book 3, the topic is festivals and celebration. This listening material is about Trinidad Carnival.

Analysis of learners

As for senior students, they have a basic ability of listening, they can get a main idea of easy listening material, but they might not have good listening skill of prediction and it is difficult to deal with soundlinking, weakening and other listening difficulties.

After the lesson, my students should be able to predict listening material according to some listening questions and tasks to help them listen and understand context better. And they should be able to listen and understand some soundlinking, weakening of pronunciation. In addition, they can learn some vocabularies and expressions describing Trinidad Carnival and they can talk about this festival and invite friends in Trinidad Carnival to Chinese festivals by describing Chinese festivals.

2.Learning strategies

By the end of the lesson, S s can pay attention to distinguish speakers’ mood by their different tone .

3.Emotional objectives

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be enhanced a cultural sense of belonging and by talking Chinese festivals to foreigners.

4. Culture objectives

By the end of the lesson, Ss can know the difference between China and foreign countries by listening to Trinidad Carnival and talking about Chinese festivals.

Focal and difficult points

It is important to listen to material about Trinidad Carnival and understand some details about it, and invite foreigners to Chinese festivals.

As for difficult points, some difficulties of pronunciation such as soundlinking and weakening will be solved during pre-listening.

Teaching and learning approaches

Task-based approach and communicative approach can be used in listening and speaking stage respectively. And group-discussing and predicting can be used in learning procession.

Teaching procedures

Pre-listening

Firstly, show some pictures about Trinidad Carnival and ask Ss discuss some questions:

1.What kind of activities the Carnival might have? And find out their feature such as clothing

2.Can you find Trinidad in this map

3.What problems someone might have when going to Carnival.

After discussing, introduce some basic information about this festival and this country.

Secondly, deal with some difficulties of pronunciation ,I will read them and let Ss find differences between soundlinking, weakening of pronunciation such as wanted, forgot, degree out, and a hat... and completed pronunciation,then let them read after me.

While-reading

Firstly, Ss listen to the tape once, and discuss to get the main idea.

Secondly, Ss listen to the tape again and fill blank practices which are some sentences in listening material.

Thirdly, Ss listen to the tape and answer some questions:

1. What is wrong with Li Mei ‘s clothing and shoes?

2. What advice did Carlo give Li Mei?

3. Why is it important to have water for them?

4. Why is it difficult to hear each other?

5. Why do they plan to m eet at the Parking lot at 8o’clock?

Lastly, Ss listen last two times to fill the blank practice of retelling of the listening material.

Post-reading

Let Ss imagine they have just visited their friends in Trinidad, and seen the Carnival. Make a phone call to invite their friends to Chinese festivals. In pairs make a conversation based in the role-play. And after 10 minutes, choose some pairs to show their conversation in class.

PPT about some basic information of this country and festival can save time , help Ss understand these information better and make the lesson vivid.

Guiding Ss to predict listening material according to some listening questions and tasks can help them listen and understand context better and give them a learning strategy of listening.

Dealing with some listening difficulties such as soundlinking, weakening of pronunciation can help Ss to listen and understand better.

During post listening, the activity inviting friends in Trinidad Carnival to Chinese festivals is interesting and can practice their ability of speaking about foreign and Chinese festivals.

group-discussing can develop Ss’ cooperation spirit.

However, listening questions in part 3 is too much for some Ss who have poor ability of listening.

I need…. 这堂课的亮点主要体现在以下方面。 一、教学设计符合学生的年龄特征,富有童趣。 因为本堂课主要针对的是一年级下册的小朋友,学生的注意力很难长时间地集中,所以教师采用了很多富有童趣图片,比如sun, wind的图片都是卡通动画,既形象又生动。同时教师用吹气的方法,让学生更直观地感受这个单词的意义。在教学字母组合ou的发音的时候,教师扮演字母“o”,学生扮演字母“u”。T: I’m letter o. O-U, O-U, /au/, cloud. 然后教师让学生两人合作进行扮演。这样的效果比直接灌输字母组合的发音要好。同时教师的肢体语言丰富,面部表情丰富,语气变化较多,这也在很大的程度上牢牢抓住了学生的注意力。 二、关注细节,关注学生的生活经验。 在游戏环节中,教师让学生判断:It’s windy or not

小学英语课堂教学评价的问题分析及策略 大岭山中心小学梁玉娥 摘要: 《新课标》指出:教育是一个从量变到质变的不断发展的活动过程,需要根据情况变化及时做出判断和决定,由此产生相应的教育评价。评价是英语课程的重要的有机组成部分,科学的评价系是实现课程目标的重要保障。 关键词:实效性、主体、形成性 一.问题: 在课堂教学评价过程中,部分教师容易出现这样的误区: 问题(一):评价目标不明确,评价流于形式。 部分教师在课堂评价上的不足最为明显的是因评价而评价,评价流于形式,没有充分发挥课堂评价的作用。对英语课程评价的目的理解不清是导致这个问题的主要原因。他们以为课堂评价主要是为了提高学生的学习兴趣而设立,在课堂上设置了形式多样的评价表,从而吸引学生的学习兴趣,但在实际操作中,却没有很好的体现评价的作用。部分教师为鼓励学生,从而激起学生的学习热情和培养学生的学习兴趣,运用了过多的奖励,这也是对新课标所要求的评价的目标不明确而导致的。新课程标准强调对学生尊重和赏识并不意味着对学生一味地表扬。过多和过分的夸奖往往会导致鼓励的贬值。 问题(二):忽略了以学生为本的教育评价理念。 精彩激烈的小学五年级英语优质课比赛完满落幕了,脑海里依然有选手们精彩的一幕一幕和闪光点。但也有大家值得讨论和深思的地方。如课堂评价中

小学英语课堂教学评价的有效性 内容摘要:什么样的英语课堂才算是有效的呢?传统观念认为,好的课堂表现就是有良好的课堂秩序、教师按时完成授课内容、学生认真听讲和回答问题、按要求进行大量句型翻译练习、教师再通过讲解解答学生的问题等等。新课程标准要求下的课堂教学实践活动应体现学生的主体性。有效的英语课堂教学在具备传统课堂教学的优点以外,更应该注重课堂教学的有效性。有效的课堂是在遵循教学规律的前提下,尊重个性差异不断调整教学方法和手段让不同层次的学生都能吸收,这样的教学才是有效的教学也是教师们应该追求的最终目标。 采用真实可行的课堂评价,可以使学生增加学习的信心。英语评价是英语课程的重要组成部分,是保证英语新课程标准实施的重要措施。建立以学生为本的教育评价理念有利于学生的长远发展。评价要促进新的教育理念的传播和实施,有利于学生自主的个性化、多元化。 我们的英语教学存在着欠缺语言环境、没有实践场所的困难,学生完全依赖课堂及学校组织的相关活动来学习,使用英语,每周三节的英语课自然成为学生们的渴望。要完全发挥四十分钟的功用,鼓励学生们敢想——用英语思维,敢说——用英语模仿,敢讲——用英语交流。课堂教学中就必须渗入激励机制,设定符合小学生心理的奖励,提供模拟的语言环境,实现“在实践中学习英语”参与课堂活动效果的评价内容可包含:(1)课堂提问及回答问题;(2)唱歌,颂诗;(3)自编对话表演;(4)游戏的参与;(5)“小记者”调查或采访等。 教师在课堂上对学生个人进行记录与评价。记录的方式(形式)及材料可根据不同年级、不同的年龄特点而不同。我对三年级和五年级学生进行记录的方式一般是盖小印章,我有三个不同图案的小印章,小印章所给的奖励也不同,印着“Good!”的印章表示1分,印着“Very good!”印章表示 3 分,印着“Wonderful!”的印章则表示 5 分,学生们通过不同的活动可以盖不同的印章(印章盖在我的荣誉本上)也就标志他们得到了不同的分,如果有同学的总分累计到了 100 分,那么这名同学就是本班的“英语小能手”,可以得到一份小纪念品,评选“英语小能手”没有时间限制也没有名额限制。 下面谈谈我是怎么具体给学生“盖章”的。首先我把学生分为了 9 个小组。学生们自己评选出了英语小组长,还生动地给自己的小组命名,如:group super,group cool 等。
