John Grisham is an American writer. He has sold more than sixty million books in

twenty-nine languages. “Publisher?s Weekly” magazine named him

as one of the best-selling authors. Six of his books have been made

into movies.

Most of his books are exciting stories about lawyers (律师)

and their work. That is because John Grisham was a lawyer before.

He was born in the southern state of Arkansas in 1955. He

worked as a lawyer for nearly ten years in Southaven, Mississippi.

One day Mr Grisham heard a 12-year-old girl tell the court

how she had been attacked. This made him write a book exploring

I want to be a writer in the future. Maybe writing is hard, writers generally do not become rich, but I think it can bring me a lot of happiness. It can make me immersed in beautiful stories.
