《牛津高中英语》高考复习策略

关于高三英语教学,相当一部分老师认为高考不会考教材上的内容。于是就把教材放在一边,收集各地的模拟卷,让学生反复操练。然而,高三英语教学不应该局限于学生做模拟题,教师讲模拟题这一层面上。

目前的高考既有选拔功能,又有导向作用。对于高考与教学的关系,我们应该有一个清醒的认识。高考是一种选拔学生的手段,而平时的教学是为了促进学生的学习,学生学习是为了今后的发展,因此,高考是教与学的一部分。

《英语课程标准》明确指出,英语教材是英语课程的核心部分,是学校英语教学的核心材料。用好用活教材对于英语教学有着非常积极地作用。

2010年普通高等学校招生全国统一考试(湖南卷)考试说明给出的信号之一就是教师

从表中可以看出,有助于考查学生扎实基础和思维表达的主观题达到了43%。考查的形式以填空、回答和书面表达为主。这些形式在《牛津高中英语》教材中的每一模块均有体现。主观题的加强进一步加强了高考对教学的正面导向作用。

那么,如何进一步用好用活教材呢?以下做法供参考:

一、教材主阅读前的三个问题,教师应该要求学生在课前预习好,教师要检查学生是否把问题答在教材上。不要仅仅停留在口头检查,既要口头,更要书面。

二、Project版块中阅读材料后面的问题也需落实在书面上。

三、教材中提供的小短文可以改编为缺词填空,形式上可以是先给出所缺词的首字母,然后过渡到无字母提示。

四、对于书中workbook中两篇阅读材料可以改编后作为学生自主学习的材料,教师主要是检查学生是否利用课余的时间完成。这样做的目的是确保了学生有一定的语言输入量,有确保了语篇材料的科学性和适用性,因为这些经过中外专家编辑过的语篇的质量是可以得到保证的。以下是一经过改编的范例:

在用好用活教材的基础上,值得去抓的是以下三个方面:

一、抓基础---以词汇语法为主,教师和学生均应该认识到基础的东西不是次要的东西,而是十分重要的考点。

二、抓重点---主干知识,以动词为主:如时态、语态、非谓语形式、动词短语、然后是名词、形容词和副词。

三、抓表达---口头与书面是学生英语能力高低的体现,教师要努力让学生能说会写。

此处重点是教师要帮助指导学生克服词汇关:

1.过单词识记关

要求学生见词了解基本的词义,尤其是一些词义单一的词,如:available,biology,century,devotion,environment等。

2.过词汇转换关

要求学生结合构词法的学习掌握词形的变化,如动词变名词suggest→suggestion; 形容词变名词careful→carefulness等。

3.过不规词汇关

要求学生掌握不规则动词的变化形式、不规则名词复数变化形式和不规则形容词和副词比较级和最高级变化形式。

4.过各种词组关

要求学生十分重视各类词组的学习和运用

动词词组,如put away, put up, put forward

形容词词组,如be proud of, be afraid of, be careful of, be aware of

名词词组,如in vain, in return, in need

5.过相似词汇关

要指导学生关注形式上相近的词,以免在使用时想当然或吃不准。教师可以要求或者同学一起整理,如:except/expect; affect/effect; adopt/adapt等。

6.过相异词汇关

主要帮助学生整理一组一组的反义词来提高学生学习词汇的效率,如:polite/rude;

besides/expect; interesting/boring等。

为了进一步加强课堂教学的有效性,教师的课堂活动和训练形式都要多样化。平时训练的目的是促进学生学会运用语言。因此,训练的形式不应该仅仅局限在考试的题型。

建议适当减少选择题的量,适当增加训练形式,如:

连词成句,培养学生对语序的感悟能力;

造句练习,促进学生学习用英语表达的能力;

单句改错,引导学生关注常犯错误并培养他们的纠错能力;

综合填空,帮助学生通过上下文准确运用英语词汇。

以下提供一些多样性的训练形式供参考:

一、词汇检测(所选词汇均在考纲词表中出现的)

教师只要用科学方法来指导学生,用多种形式来组织教学,用多种题型来训练学生;并且加强研究学科重点,教材要点和中国学生犯错的原因,通过帮助学生归纳整理已学知识并通过建立联想来提高复习效率,就一定能极大地提高自己的教学水平,让自己的学生终身得益于你的教学指导。
