Tibet

Tibet lies on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau of the southwest border of Chi na. The average height of the whole region is more than 4,000 meter s above sea level (Baike).

Although a part of China, Tibet has a unique culture of its own. As w e know, china is a united multi-ethnic country. However, Tibet is an in alienable part of China since ancient times. As early as BCE, Tibeta n people live here with our ancestors in Han nationality. In the early s eventh century CE, Chinese history had entered a new stage. After th

e Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE) building a strong unified government, 3

00 years of Central China's chaotic division were ended (China Tibet i nformation center). At the same time, the Tibetan national hero Songts an Gambo united more than 10 tribes and clans of the Tibetan platea u (Chin a Tibet information center).

The religions in Tibet are the most important part of people’s ordinary living. Different from central China, Tibet owns a special religion called Bonismo and it divided into two parts, sridpargyudkyibon and Bonpo (Wenku Baidu HZZ 2010).They includes kinds of things such as the folk customs, philosophy, astronomy, calendar calculation, Tibetan medicine, hetuvidya (logic), debates, art, dance and music (Wenku Hzz 2010).Bon still plays an indispensable role in the spiritual and cultural life of the Tibetan people.

In Tibet, one of the most exciting and attractive things is the tradition al festival.Every month, there are some festival days which are evolv ed from the folk custom activities. Such as The Tibetan Calendar Ne w Year.It is one of the most famous Astronomical Almanac of Chin a. The Tibetan New Year usually begins at the first day of the luna r January and lasts for three to five days. The Tibetan lunar January 15th is the Lantern Festival which was originally the day of the asse mbly that people make Butter Ghee Lamp pilgrimage. Later, people a dded the lighthouse, lamp holder as well as butter sculptures to shap e a variety of characters, flowers, birds and animals(Tibet China). Tibetan meals always attract tourists to Tibet to appreciate them .The representative samples of Tibetan meals are burning sheep, beef, Z anba, buttered tea and highland barley wine. All of these foods tast e light, leading the trend of culinary culture for fresh seasonal foods. Maybe one of the most fascinating things about Tibet is its beautiful s cenery. There is no doubt that travel to Tibet is a dream of the most travelers. There are kinds of legendary places tempting people to go and enjoy. Accordingly the Potala Palace, the number one construction in Tibet,is divided into two sections the White Palace (which consists of offices, dormitories, Buddhist official seminary and a printing house) and the Red Palace (which was constructed after the death of fifth Dalai Lama). The center of the complicated Red Palace is the Great West Hall which records

the fifth Dalai Lama’s life by its fine murals. No one can claim to have really visited Lhasa until they have taken a stroll around Barkhor Street. As the oldest street in Lhasa, Barkhor is circular and still remains quite traditional. The street is narrow and lined with stalls or shops on each side. Goods for sale are typical reflections of Tibetan culture. From morning to evening, streams of people throng in to purchase whatever they need. Barkhor is also the sacred pilgrimage site. It is a place where Tibetan culture, economy, religion and arts assemble.

Generally, Tibet is a magic and beautiful place to be visited. Obviously, I will make a plan traveling to Tibet with strangers who want to explore this attractive place.
