what we cannot afford to lose 演讲稿

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen:
I am Lin Qianji from pharmaceutical department. This is really a great honor for me to be here and share some of my opinions with you.

The first time I got this topic, what we cannot afford to lose. I focused on the word “lose”. Just like many other people, I’ve been losing all kinds of things like purses, cellphone, MP3 and almost everything once in my pockets. Of course, I also suffered conditions like losing competition, losing face, losing mind, and losing confidence! Perhaps the only thing I fail to lose is my weight! Certainly we do understand that during our lifetime it’s just so inevitable to lose something even for those most precious ones. But the funny thing is Sometimes we overcome the suffering and stand up again, but most of the time we just collapse because of the “losing”. We may have hundreds of reasons to give up in front of these difficulties. However, in my point of view, becoming hopeless could be the most lethal one. And actually “hope” is just something we cannot afford to lose.

“However desperate your life may seem, there is hope.” Nick Vujicic, my favorite lecturer once said. Maybe some of you have already heard about this amazing guy. 30 years ago, Nick was born in Melbourne Australia, with no arms or legs. However, last year when I saw him on the screen of a church for the first time, I was got totally shocked! It is not because of his physical paralyzation, but because of his unbelievable optimism! When you watching him swimming, playing soccer, and giving those humorous and fantastic speeches to people all over the world. You will never come up with the word misery! Instead, you will come up with the word, hope!

Apparently, life is not that easy, especially to us, my dear fellow students, as the elites of this society, we will surely bear more stress than others, and we will face bigger challenges too. But please trust me, no matter how you feel frustrated, depressed or upset, just take one or two minutes to draw yourself a beautiful picture of hope! It doesn’t really matter what your picture looks like, it matters that your hope will finally motivate you to create a better tomorrow! And the good news is, hope won’t be stolen. And It belongs to anybody who wants it! All you need to do is holding that hope, smiling to yourself and moving forward. Thanks!
