Chinese dream, my dream——Gold dream, red dream and green dream Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! The title of my speech today is “Gold dream, red dream and green dream”. It’s known to all that Chinese dream, which was raised by President Xi Jinping, is a meaningful concept. From my perspective, Chinese dream consists of three aspects which can be expressed in three different colors: gold, red and green.The first and foremost aspect is the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. This is a gold dream because gold means harvest, hornor and glory; the second one is improving the people's wellbeing. This is a red dream because red means passion, vigor and happiness. And the last aspect should be boosting the building of a harmonious society. This is a green dream because green means harmony and vitality.
Of course, I have my own dream which also contains three aspects: gold dream, red dream and green dream. I have a gold dream that I can be a scholar with critical thinking in a desired university. In 2005, Mr Qian Xuesen raised a famous question “why Chinese universities failed to cultivate innovative talents”. As a Chinese, this question motivates and shocks me a lot because I don’t want to be those without the sense of innovation. So I should read a lot, think critically and discuss with others. Moreover, I should be able to conduct academic research by raising different questions and solving them.
I have a red dream that all my relatives and friends can be healthy and happy. To our sorrow, Kai-Fu Lee, founder and CEO of Innovation Works, has been diagnosed with cancer. Although cancer is serious and he has to face it, we still have to learn from his experiences and try our best to lead a healthy life.To begin with, I’ll do more sports and form good habits in daily life to keep fit. Meanwhile, I will try hard to be optimistic towards life because one’s attitude plays a part in health. What’s more, I will give more advice to my relatives and friends on health care.
I have a green dream that everyone can take actions to protect the environment and advocate low-carbon life. Nowadays with the more and more serious pullution, our life is suffering severely. What can we do? We can’t forbid all firms from producing waste water or polluted gases, but we can at least report these bahaviors to the government. We can’t ask everyone to save resources or plant trees, but we can try our best to persuade and guide others to protect the environment by doing small things. We can’t persuade all to set up a kind of green lifestyle, but we can at least advise our friends to take more buses instead of driving cars.
Ladies and gentlemen, as the saying goes, the important thing in life is to have a great dream and the determination to attain it. Since I have established my dream, what matters is to strive to realise it. And the realization of my dream can make a certain contribution to the realization of Chinese dream. Therefore, with the joint efforts of all the individual Chinese, our Chinese dream will come into reality. Thank you very much!
