Inaugural Address

The passage is the inaugural address of president John F. Kennedy. At the beginning of the speech he said it was the victory of freedom, it was a symbol of an end and a new beginning. He believed that the rights of man come not from the generosity of the state but from the hand of God. The torch has been passed to a new generation of Americans. They born in this century tempered by war, proud of their ancient heritage, unwilling to witness the slow undoing of the human rights.

Whatever it costs, they would pay any price to assure the survival and the success of liberty. To their old allies, they swore the loyalty of faithful friends. To those new friends who are welcomed to the rank of freedom, they swore that one form of colonial would pass away. They would help them finding the hope of supporting freedom. To the people who still in the trouble of poverty, they swore their best efforts to help them out. To their sister republics south of their border, they would convert their words into deeds, assist free man and government casting off the chain of poverty. To the United Nation, they hoped it a shield of the new and the weak. To their adversary they requested to seek peace.

Neither The u.s.a. and the soviet union can get benefits from the arms race. The American would never negotiate out of fear, but never fear to negotiate. They wanted to put the arms under the absolute control of all nations. They would seek to the wonders of science instead of its terrors.

They advocated that the both sides could unite to guard the peace of the world. All of this can not be finished in a hundred of days nor a thousand of days. The Americans rested the final success of the course.

The trumpet summoned the citizens to bear the burden of long twilight struggle whether they were Americans or not. They would sacrifice whatever they have to finish the work that the God left to them.
