Sigmund Freud /‵zikmunt ‵froit/ (1856 - 1939) is anAustrian physician and the founder of psychoanalysis. Freudexplored the workings of the human mind and developedpsychoanalysis as a therapeutic technique to treat neurosis ormental disturbances. His idea of the unconscious mentalprocesses and his theory that a principal cause of neurosis is the repression of painful memories into the unconscious hold a central place in psychology and psychiatry today.❖His Theory:Freud didn't exactly invent the idea of the conscious versus unconscious mind, but he certainly was responsible for making it popular. The conscious mind is what you are aware of at any particular moment, your present perceptions, memories, thoughts, fantasies, feelings, what have you. Working closely with the conscious mind is what Freud called the preconscious, what we might today call "available memory:" anything that can easily be made conscious, the memories you are not at the moment thinking about but can readily bring to mind. Now no-one has a problem with these two layers of mind. But Freud suggested that these are the smallest parts! The largest part by far is the unconscious. It includes all the things that are not easily available to awareness, including many things that have their origins there, such as our drives or instincts, and things that are put there because we can't bear to look at them, such as the memories and emotions associated with trauma.According to Freud, the unconscious is the source of our motivations, whether they be simple desires for food or sex, neurotic compulsions, or the motives of an artist or scientist. And yet, we are often driven to deny or resist becoming conscious of these motives, and they are often available to us only in disguised form. We will come back to this. The id, the ego, and the superego"it" or id:In Freudian theory, the division of the psyche that is totally unconscious and serves as the source of instinctual impulses and demands for immediate satisfaction of primitive needs.私我,本我在弗洛伊德理论中,完全处于无意识中的心理状态,它是产生本能冲动和要求直接满足原始欲望的根源ego: in psychoanalysis, the division of the psyche that is conscious, most immediately controls thought and behavior, and is most in touch with external reality. 自我在精神分析学中指有意识的最直接地控制思想和行为,与外部世界联系也最多的那部分自我superego: In Freudian theory, the division of the psyche that is formed through the internalization of moral standards of parents and society, and censors and restrains the ego. Mostly unconscious, it is composed of the ego ideal and the conscience.

Many people are unhappy with the develpment of society. We care about everything and think about thousands of bad results before we do one thing. F.Bcon said:Everything is so complicated that I don't try to solve a problem until I have to.I only need to take one thing at a time.Don't augment your sorrow.Happiness is important in your life.Above all,we can conclude that augmenting our sorrow really does harm to ourselves. What's worse,it will inevitably influence our good mood.If we remain unhappy, how can we keep healthy .The old Greece's philosopher said; life is a mirrow. If you smile into it,it will smile back to you. If you cry to it,it cry back to you.So we should have a happy day,Try to forget all my problems. You should talk with your best friends about your problems ! You must control and direct your emotions not abolish them. Besides, abolition would be antimissile task.Emotions are like a river. Their power can be dammed up and released under control and direction, but is cannot be held forever in check.Sooner or later the dam will burst, unleashing catastrophic destruction.Your negative emotions can also be controlled and directed. PMA and self-discipline can remove their harmful effects and make them serve constructive purposes. Sometimes fear and anger will inspire intense action. But you must always submit your negative emotions--and you positive ones--to the examination of your reason before releasing them. Emotion without reason is a dreadful enemy. What faculty provides the crucial balance between emotions and reason? It is your willpower, or ego, a subject which will be explored in more detail below. Self-discipline will teach you to throw your willpower behind either reason or emotion and amplify the intensity of their expression. Both your heart and your mind need a master, and they can find the master in your ego. However, your ego will fill their role only if you use self-discipline.In the absence of self-discipline, your mind and heart will fight their battles as they please. In this situation the person within whose mind the fight is carried out often gets badly hurt. What accnornpanies you all your life is not fortune and fame nor youth and appearance, but your mood or the state of mind which controls your life.As man in the modern age, our moods are as ehangable as the cars coming and going on the super-high way.A favor from a neighbour, a kiss of a child, a praise from others are like warm sunshine that makes us comfortable. Bat a rough word from a stranger, a false product bought from the store, or an insulting remark in fun would put you in a bad mood and make your heart sink.A good mood makes one happy, energetic and creative. I wasonce shut in an elevator for one and a half hours. I had to phone for help.Eventually I was released, it was fun because I was in a happy mood. Otherwise I would have felt miserable.A bad mood is bad enough to cause you to lose self-confidence and leaves you helpless with all your worries and troubles in mind.More often than not, we are in a mixed mood. Sometimes we are happy and high-spirited. Sometimes we are in low spirits. At this time we have to take courage and have a change of mood.A good mood will accompany you on your way to the palace of success, to the chamber of love and to pleasure and barmony in life. With a happy mood, we can live a more substantial life, one that is more interesting and meaningful. So, always remember to keep a happy mood wherever you go or whatever you do.。

Patty Stonesifer President and Chairman Gates Library Foundation Redmond, Washington
I left a great job as head of interactive media at Microsoft for one reason: the passion was gone. My pocketbook, ego, and sense of excitement were being satisfied, but I no longer had passion for the challenges I faced each day. Lots of people thought I was crazy to walk away from it all. But I felt like a juggler -- managing projects, budgets, and people. Eventually I found my dream job. It aligns my personal expertise and goals with an opportunity to put technology in the hands of people who otherwise would not have access to it. No matter how high your career registers on the conventional charts, you've got to listen to your heart

Ever since computers were invented, we've been trying to make them smarter and more powerful. From the abacus, to room-sized machines, to desktops, to computers in our pockets. And are now designing artificial intelligence to automate tasks that would require human intelligence. If you look at the history of computing, we've always treated computers as external devices that compute and act on our behalf. What I want to do is I want to weave computing, AI and internet as part of us. As part of human cognition, freeing us to interact with the world around us. Integrate human and machine intelligence right inside our own bodies to augment us, instead of diminishing us or replacing us.
