单元要点透视Section A⒈Have you packed the beach towels yet? 你带上你的浴巾吗?◇这是一个现在完成时态的句子,其结构为has /have + 过去分词。

◇yet 做副词,用作状语,表示“还……,仍然……”,多用于否定句及疑问句中。

在肯定句中用already,表示“还……,仍然……”,如:Has your son arrived yet? 你儿子到了吗?We have had no news from the boy yet. 我们还没有得到这个男孩的消息。

We have already got everything ready. 我们已经准备好了一切。

They had already gone when I arrived. 我到的时候他们已经走了。

⒉I haven’t cleaned out the refrigerator yet. 我还没整理好冰箱。

clean out 意思是“清除;打扫干净,彻底清理”,一般指“把……内部空间打扫干净,整理”。

如:Whose job is to clean out snow from the road?把路上的雪清除掉是谁的工作?Please clean out the cupboard. 请把橱柜打扫干净。

⒊I will do it a minute. 我马上就办。

in 用于将来时态,意思是“在一段时间后”,如:My son’s birthday is in two weeks’ time. 我儿子的生日再过两周就到了。

My teacher will be back in five weeks. 我的老师将在五个星期后回来。

如果动作发生在将来的某时刻、日期或事件后,用after。

如:She will be back after three o’clock. 她将在3点钟后回来。

⒋Have you fed the cat yet? 你喂过猫了吗?◇feed (fed, fed)作为及物动词,意思是“喂养,饲养”。

如:Have you fed the pigs?你喂猪了吗?◇feed … on / with…是固定搭配,feed后接喂养对象,on/with接喂养的东西即食物,意思是“用……喂……”,feed… to …意思是“把……喂给……”,feed 后跟喂的东西,to 后跟喂的对象。

如:Feed the cat with fish. = Feed fish to the cat. 用鱼来喂猫。

◇feed on 意思是“以……为食”,如:Horses feed on grass. 马以草为食。

⒌Have you turned off your radio? 你关掉你的收音机吗?turn off = shut off, 意思是“关掉(电灯、煤气、自来水、电视等)”;其反义短语为turn on. 如:The lights must be turned off before you leave the classroom.在你离开教室前必须关掉灯。

⒍I have to do my homework ,of course.当然我得做我的家庭作业。

◇have to 相当于have got to, have got to 在口语中更为常见,意思是“不得不”“必须”。

当我们谈论一件我们有义务去做或不得不做的事时,用have got to do 或have to do, to 后接动词不定式。

如:You have to go there by bus. 你不得不坐公共汽车去那儿。

◇of course 意思是“自然,当然”,相当于certainly。

⒎Then I have to take the dog for a walk, water my mom’s plants and dosome shopping. 然后我得带狗散步,给妈妈的植物浇水,去买些东西。

◇take … for a walk 意思是“带……去散步”。

如:She often takes her daughter for a walk after supper.她常在晚饭后带女儿去散步。

◇do some shopping 意思是“购物”,类似的短语还有:do some reading 读书do some cooking做饭do some cleaning 打扫卫生do some washing 洗衣服do some writing 写点东西注意:此结构的some 不能省去,但可换成the 表示特定情况中的动作。

Section B⒏Number of concerts they’ve done …他们演出的场次。

此处number of 相当于the number of, 意思是“为……的数字,数目”,作主语时,谓语动词用单数。

如:The number of books in our school library is more than 10.000.我校图书馆藏书有一万多册。

I don’t know the number of children who don’t go to school in this village.我不知道这个村有多少孩子不上学。

a number of 意思是“许多”后跟名词复数,意思与many相同。

⒐Yes, they’ve been on TV lots of times.是的,他们上电视好多次了。

time 在本句中表示“次,回”,是可数名词,有复数形式。

如:We have met twice / three times / several times. 我们见过两次/三次/多次。

注意:◇“一次”,“两次”应当说once, twice, 而不说one time或two times. “一两次”可说成once or twice ,“两三次”可说成two or three times, 这里two 不能改为twice.◇问“几次”时,通常用how many times,表示到说话时为止的结果,与现在完成时连用;how often 表示某一动作或情况发生的频率,与一般现在时态或一般过去时态连用。

如:How many times has she been late this term?本学期她迟到了多少次?How often do you go home? 你们多久回一次家?⒑And then they’re going to go on a world tour in which they will perform in ten different cities.而且他们还要在不同的城市演出。

in which they will perform in ten different cities为定语从句,关系代词which 作介词in的宾语;在这种情况下,关系代词不能用that ,而只能用which 或whom,放在关系代词前面的可以是单个的介词,也可以是复合介词,如:in front of 等。

如:He lives in a building, in front of which is a garden.他住在一幢楼里,楼前面是个花园。

This is our school in which there are over 3.000 teachers and students.这就是我们的学校,里面有3000名师生。

⒒We’ve had a few songs in the top ten, but we really hope to have a number one hit some day.我们已经有几首歌进入排行榜前十名,但是我们真的希望有一天可以拿到第一名。

◇in the top ten意思是“前十名”。

◇some day 意思是“来日,将来某一天”,只能用于将来。

be off 意思是“离开,走开”。

如:I am off on Sunday. 我星期天离开。

half of 意思是“一半,二分之一”,相当于一个分数。

作主语时,其谓语动词的单复数形式取决于of 后的名词是单数还是复数。

◇forget 接动词不定式做宾语表示“忘记去做某事”,指该动作未曾发生;forget接动名词做宾语时,表示“忘记曾经做过某事”,指该动作已经发生。

如:I forgot closing the door. 我忘了关门了。

(我关上门了,但我却忘了)◇lock 在此做及物动词,意思是“锁;锁上”,如:He locked his money in the safe. 他把钱锁进了保险柜。

◇to leave 此处为动词不定式做后置宾语,修饰person。

不定式作定语要放在所修饰词之后,与被修饰的名词有关系(不定式为不及物动词时,则其后应加上相应的介词)、主谓关系、同位关系以及补充说明关系。

如:Tom was the last one to finish the homework.汤姆是最后一个完成作业的人。
