Sebastian Michaelis
Sebastian Michaelis is the very attractive butler of the Phantomhive household and acts as Ciel„s bodyguard. Sebastian‟s appearance is similar to that of Ciel„s father. Sebastian often describes himself through the phrase “I am nothing more than a butler.” It can also translate to “I am a demon and a butler”. In Funimation‟s English translation, this phrase becomes “I am one hell of a butler,”（我是地狱管家） which is, obviously, another play on his demonic origins（起 源）.

The Black Butler
Black Butler is a cartoon written by Yana Toboso（枢梁）. Since it debutted（首日上市） on September 16, 2006, it has been serialized（分集） in Square Enix„s shōnen manga magazine Monthly GFantasy. The series follows Sebastian Michaelis, a demonic butler（恶魔执事） who is bound（受） by a supernatural （超自然的） contract to serve Ciel Phantomhive, the twelve-year-old head of the Phantomhive noble （贵族的） family, and in return Sebastian will obtain （获得） Ciel‟s soul when Ciel has finished getting his revenge（报仇）and allows Sebastian to kill him.
Ciel Phantomhive
The earl （伯爵）Ciel Phantomhive is the businesssavvy（精明的）,twelve-yearold head of the English Phantomhive noble family, taking over after the deaths of his parents。 He runs Funtom Company, which manufactures （制造） toys and sweets. His right eye, which is usually covered with a black eyepatch, bears a pentacle, the sign of the Faustian contract he made with the demon Sebastian. Sebastian says that the mark on Ciel is proof（证明） of their contract. He also says that demons mark their prey so that they can locate them.
