二、教学实践1.教学步骤step 1. Warming up1)以introduction 部分的图片入手，引出本课关于自然灾害的词汇，然后用brainstorm的形式让学生快速想出相关词汇。
2) Discussion: Have you ever experienced such an event or read a news story about one of the events? Can you describe it? 让全班学生两人一组互相讲述自己的经历，有利于激发学生说的兴趣,在学生的相互交流中培养起发现问题和解决问题的能力，然后让个别学生起来展示，培养学生的自信心和表达能力，同时也自然过渡到了本节主题。
Step 2. Reading1)Skimming 快速阅读全文，理清大意；2)Scanning ①细读文章，回答part2 的问题。
提问学生展示答案，针对有问题的答案让学生讨论后再做纠正，培养其自主解决问题的能力。
②然后再从definition,speed,phenomena and worst event 几个方面比较tornado and hurricane的不同之处，旨在培养学生理解细节和提取信息的能力。

说课稿
一、对教材的认识
此次公开课，我选上必修三模块三的“ Reading and Vocabulary”。
本单元的话题为“The Violence of Nature”(自然灾害)。
本课时是“自然灾害”
的介绍及阅读理解，旨在让学生掌握自然灾害方面的一些词汇，了解自然灾害，了解人们在自然灾害中的经历、感受，提高学生的自我保护意识；同时，训练学生在语境中理解词汇的能力，培养学生对“doing做结果状语”等句法的运用能力。
另外，培养学生的自主学习能力、合作探究及勇于质疑的精神，也是我一成不变的教育目标。
二、教学重难点
重点：正确理解文章，提高从文章正确提取信息、分析信息、解决问题的能力。
难点：
1.掌握课文的主旨大意，整理出关于课文结构的主要信息.
2.用英语描述自然灾害和表达感受，提高自我保护意识。
三、学情
1）高一下学期的学生基本了解和适应了新教材的特点；
2）经过开学一个月的演练，自主学习习惯正在养成；
3）对事物有好奇心，思维活跃，但思考不深入，逻辑性不强；
4）生活历练少，心理承受力弱，缺少应对突发事件的知识和勇气。
四、教学理念
本节公开课录制时，我校已试行“二二五”课堂教学一个月。
“二二五”课堂教学旨在通过导学案给学生创设问题情景，充分调动学生的积极性，先让学生自主学习，成为问题的“发现者”，然后与小组成员进行合作性的探究，再由学生自行展示学习成果。
课堂前20分钟为学生提供一个展示与自由辩论交流技能的平台；再用20分钟进行巩固性训练，强化学习成果；最后5分钟布置作业和预习任务。
“二二五”课堂教学打破了常规的课堂教学模式，形成一个由课下预习、课上展示演练和课下巩固组成的“大课堂”，使学生的学习过程在课上和课下形成一个有机循环。
其目是培养学生的自主学习能力，鼓励学生大胆展示自我，学生之间既有合作探究又有激烈辩论，同时提高学习能力和人际交往能力。
在整个教学过程中，教师是学生学习的引导者和参与者，但教师“动”的少，学生“动”的多，给学生提供了足够的思维空间和自由发展的平台。
五、教学程序
1、预习阶段
课文泛读和精读问题、猜词义以及重点词法和句法的学习都以导学案的
形式帮助学生自主完成。
除完成以上学习任务，每个学习小组还有特别
精细的准备其中一部分学习任务，以备在课上充当“教师”的角色，为
其他学生解答学习过程中出现的困难。
旨在培养学生的自学能力，逐渐
形成良好的阅读习惯和用英语思维的习惯。
2、展示阶段
上课前的班空是预习展示阶段。
各小组在黑板上演示本小组自学成果。
3、讨论阶段
上课后学生认真比较自己和他人的学习成果，并用红色笔标注有疑问的地方。
4、质疑辩论阶段
各小组组长先针对展示内容给出必要的解释或个人学习过程中形成的心得体会。
而其他学生可对黑板上的展示内容提出质疑，并与讲解人员展开辩论，最后达成一个双方都接受的结论。
这一环节的目的是通过“兵教兵”的方式，激起不同观点和思维的碰撞，实现不同学习水平的学生都有提高。
在讲述和辩论过程中要求他们尽量用英语来表述，培养其用英语思维的习惯。
5、课文复述
要求所以学生大声朗读课文，找出文章概括性句子，反复诵读直至背过。
复述能帮助学生实现对课文的深层理解，记忆重点词句，为后面知识的输出做好铺垫。
6、应用阶段
用ppt为学生呈现有关四川地震的配有简短的英文解释图片新闻，回顾了四川地震和震后的救助重建过程。
随后提出让学生准备一个纪念四川地震一周年的谈话节目。
目的是给学生提供一个应用的真实语境。
学生以小组为单位，进行角色分配、材料编辑、节目编排和上台表演等一系列的活动。
在这个过程中，学生可以应用本单元所学的描述灾害、表述经历等词句，还能通过小组合作，培养合作精神和发展人际交往能力。
在学生的节目表演结束后，我适时的肯定学生的成功表现，同时把话题升华为激发学生的学习热情，争取早日解决地震预测问题。
7、评价阶段
通过学生自评、互评、教师评价等方式，从自主学习方法、语言知识、小组活动贡献等多方面反思总结学习过程中的得失，使学生获得多层面的成就感。
8、布置作业和预习任务
布置作业：写一篇有关四川地震的小短文。
安排具体的预习任务：本模块的两个语法。
在“二二五”课堂教学中，每节课的最后5分钟就是为学生呈现具体的预习任务，每节课的结束也是下一阶段学习活动的开端，使整个的学习过程循环起来。
